The nice thing about living in one of the most diverse zip codes in the nation is the ability to try many different ethnic food options in small, mom-and-pop type places where the owners care personally about the quality of the food and satisfaction of their customers.
Tabon Bakery is top of the list on both!
What started as an unmotivated search for “the same old carry-out pizza options”, ended up with me coming across this nearby Lebanese restaurant that had what appeared to be very healthy, fresh and delicious pizza!
I jumped in the car and headed to the grocery store where Tabon Bakery is located and made my way to the left-center of the store to place my order. I received enough friendly guidance to decide what to order.
Preparation was fast and efficient; I was out the door pretty quickly with the items in the photos as well as an order of the “vegetables”.
Everything was fantastic. Fresh ingredients with really good dough / crust!
If I had one “wish” it might have been some appropriate (Lebanese) salad or side to go with the pizzas instead of just the veggies.
“Dining in” is nothing overly special (it’s in a grocery store) but also very do-able with plenty of tables if that’s your desire. But the pizzas also traveled well and were perfectly fine when I got them home.
Will definitely be returning to try different menu items including the “stuffed crust pizza boat”.
Go give some love to Tabon Bakery! You...
Read moreThis is the kind of place you won’t find anywhere else in Dallas. Tucked inside an international middle eastern focused supermarket sits a large brick oven churning out incredibly authentic Lebanese, Jordanian and other middle eastern food. You can smell the wonderful smells of the made to order flatbreads (manakish) topped with Za’atar and olive oil as soon as you walk in the store. The meat pie made with halal beef and lamb was amazing and the pizza boat was like no other pizza in Dallas. You should call ahead to make sure they’re open as they do sell out and will close early. Stop and shop and order some food and know that you’re lucky enough to eat something hardly anyone in Dallas knows about. Also, Jordan the chef/owner is super kind and very proud of the work he’s doing. It’s not many places you can be served this high of quality food and have the chef chat you up while they...
Read moreI highly recommend everyone try this brand-new bakery inside of Zamzam supermarket. The food is incredibly flavorful and fresh, and the owner is incredible hospitable, patient, and kind. I ordered the za'atar wrap and pesto with halloumi flatbreads, as well as a meat pie. The flatbreads were so tasty, but the meat pie ended up being my favorite of the three. It was served with a side of pickles and pomegranate molasses-- the tartness contrasts nicely with the richness of the meat. The bread is so fluffy and flavorful, I would honestly be so happy eating it with olive oil and za'atar. I also ordered mint tea, which came piping hot in a large cup with fresh mint leaves that were pleasantly aromatic. It was perfect for washing down my delicious meal. Ever since i've been craving their food, and I can't wait to come back and...
