Overall this was a pretty fun experience for us. At least as far as a trip to Starbucks goes. Yes, we ventured a trip to the casino looking for the Grains & Grounds coffeehouse bakery which soon turned into a slightly confused, dark & flashy, casino lit, cigar smoke infused, hunt and discovery of Chumash's back-of-the-house, hole-in-the-wall, Starbucks gem! I'll admit I was disappointed at realizing our Google maps wild goose chase ended in finding a 'boutique bakery/coffee conglomerate consolidation. But as early morning, albeit last minute, adventures go we still got a lot of enjoyment in playing around with a delightfully glittered, Almond Honey Cake fluff and a dark chocolate & gold gilded Cake Pop! Wow!! But while I can't say either confection knocked my socks off in the taste category, I will give full marks for imagination and whimsical presentation. So I'll conclude by admitting that I'm deeply curious to sample whatever else they've got for next time.

Not at all surprise that Grains and Grounds is a place I’m going to rave about. This little bakery is located inside Chumash Casino and I get more excited about this pastry shop than the actual resort. Not only are the desserts aesthetically pleasing, they are simply wow. A different array of desserts are presented each month depending on season or special events. And don’t forget about their in house made Gelato Bar. Yummy! Personal favorites are the cake pops and specialty cakes. The cake pops are dangerously delicious and the art, the flavors, in their cakes are astounding. Need something a little bit more filling? Grains and Grounds also serves pre-packaged fresh salads and inviting sandwiches. Craving Starbucks? This shop also has you covered with some of your favorite Starbucks coffees and drinks. Masks required for service and social distancing is enforced. Enjoy and you know the drill, please be safe.

After playing in the casino and staying at the hotel, this dessert spot is a hidden gem. All the desserts were so delicious and it seems like they change menu throughout the seasons. Since it was a limited time menu. Very clean establishment and the staff is extremely friendly. You order on one side and pick up at the other counter. Pricing is extremely fair and the desserts were delicious. I was extremely surprised.
