I received a free pizza from Gionino's today and decided to give them a try. I ordered a medium pizza with red peppers, JoJo's, and hot wings. The service was great and they had my order ready ahead of time. I had actually left my phone and keys inside the store and the man up front brought them back out to me. However, the inside looked pretty gross. The refrigerator looked encrusted in grease. There was an older gentleman on the inside with his back turned and on his phone. The pizza was also sub par. The crust was too doughy, the cheese was too tough, and the sauce was hella sweet. The red peppers were ok but definitely canned. The peppers must have absorbed the moisture in the sauce and cheese when it was put into the oven. I liked how there was minimal sauce. The end butt of the crust was also nice and crispy. That helped keep the pizza from being a dramatic failure. The wings were soggy (submerged in hot sauce and being frozen wings) and very obviously not fresh. The wing portion was also unbelievably small. (Pictured) the wing was over half the size of my pinky finger. I'm a 6'3 guy and I have rather large hands. The wings fell off the bone but had no flavor other than the sauce. Bland and soggy are two adjectives I would use to describe the wings. The JoJo's were the absolute saving grace of this order (2 stars instead of 1) They were nice and hot, fresh, crispy, and starchy. I feel at least Gionino's could do better by incorporating fresh, thick wings and fresh peppers/veggies into their arsenal. The other complaints are opinionated, but no one likes soggy wings/pizza, unprofessional staff (cellphone guy) and an unhygienic...
Read moreI don’t usually give bad reviews but I thought this was necessary. I ordered $45 worth of pizza and chicken delivered. The chicken was uncooked. I called to report. Manager refused to get on the phone at first. When he did, he was very rude. Would not give me his name. Nor would he give me the name and number of the owner so that I could politely call the next morning to discuss. I was offered to have another order of chicken delivered. But after waiting an hour for food to be delivered, we ate the cold pizza instead. I chose to not opt for the store credit after the manager treated me so horribly. Because I knew I would never go back to this location. I believe in giving people Grace, but this was ridiculous. And if you had nothing to hide, then why were you so reluctant to give the owners name and number? If I could rate this at a zero I would. Probably more so because of the unprofessionalism from management besides, the uncooked chicken and the cold pizza. Judging by the multitude of negative reviews I guess it’s safe to assume the owner does not care about good customer service. It will be Gionino’s at Amherst shopping center in Massillon for us. It’s way worth the drive. Never a bad meal and everyone there is...
Read moreOrdered and hadn't received order for an hour. Called and they said on the way to us 5 or 10minutes more. 30 more minutes goes by. (Store is 2 miles from us for reference). We called again. And they said they had gotten busy and were pulling out order hot and fresh from the oven. Okay. Fine.
Order arrives 20 minutes later. Ice cold. Pizza. Cold. Wings. Cold. Fries. Cold. Antipasto salad. Warm and lumpy.
Furious. The food could have been good. We are in town only for the day, flying through. We were told this was a wonderful place to order. I mean. Sure. Maybe 2 hours previous with fresh, hot food.
Can't get a hold of anyone for a refund, partial or full. Can't find an email. The management did not explain fully. We had an extremely long day on several planes. No breakfast. No lunch. And excited for this after a very awful day.
This restaurant is forever a no thanks...
