I stopped here randomly because I wanted to try a new breakfast joint and it was okay.
Their menu says the eggs Benedict was the best in Ohio so I decided to get a side of just the hollandaise sauce and when I got it , it was cold. I donât eat hollandaise on the regular so I asked my server and she said itâs not meant to be hot hot because itâs egg yolks. I ended up just not finishing it.
I got the #1 special with 2 eggs (over easy), meat (bacon), toast (norcias) and home fries with a side of sausage gravy. I somehow got 3 eggs and the one egg was so overdone and overall they were honestly a little too greasy. Usually Iâll dip my toast in the eggs and the grease kind of ruined it.
Out of the whole meal I think the home fries, toast, bacon and sausage gravy (it was goooood) were the best. The bacon is very hickory smoked if you like that flavor.
The service was 10/10! The waitress (Stefanie- Thank you đ„°) was attentive and always filled my cup. I liked that when I ordered my coffee she immediately let me know they had flavored creamer so I got my favorite. This is every restaurant , but sometimes I wish theyâd ask before filling my coffee cup tbh. Sometimes I donât want more coffee đ« .
I probably wonât be back for breakfast but it was fun trying a new place. I like the vibe. Itâs got an old school diner feel and the waitress was so nice. While I was eating I could hear her talking to regulars which is nice. You can tell itâs a comfortable environment for many that have been coming for years.
I may try the place for lunch one day but theyâre only open until 2 PM and closed Mondays. So keep that in mind when visiting.
Also they have a scan to pay option which was cool. So I didnât have to wait for my server to pick up my check or wait in line.
Definitely check it out if...
Read moreGood Gravy! I judge all breakfast food places on their sausage gravy. My familyâs recipe has set my standards sky high. With most places in the area serving a milky snot-like flavorless âcream of sausage soup,â my hopes were not high. Iâm happy to say, this place has really good sausage gravy! Not quite as good as what my dad makes, but as close as Iâve ever had from a restaurant.
The grits were creamy and delicious, not like another âfamousâ breakfast place in canton that sells either a solid cold brick or plain watery grits. The home fries were perfectly cooked, albeit a bit bland. But nothing a quick shake of salt doesnât fix. Better yet, throw them in with the gravy!
Iâm sold for life if the food is always this good. I havenât tried anything beyond breakfast, but if the breakfast food is any indication, the other stuff may be worth a try. If youâre looking for some really good biscuits and gravy, go to Gregoryâs and donât look back. Thatâs what sausage gravy is supposed to taste like people! Iâll definitely be back on those days when Iâm out of sausage to make my own.
Edit: I now order breakfast from here every chance I get. Quality is always on point....
Read moreI am sad even reviewing. Gregory's has been our family's favorite since I was a child. We've had holidays, birthdays, met with out of town relatives, any breakfast we went out for for over a decade happened in this booth. Mother's day earlier two years ago was a rough experience, so we have come in less and less since then. This week we come in to meet with my aunt from out of town, and service was the worst you could really receive without being spat on (no water refills, bad attitude, no napkins despite multiple requests, food that came out one plate at a time over a 20+ minute span, and potatoes that came incredibly late and cold after 4 reminders). My bill for 1 blueberry pancake, bacon, and potatoes was $17 and change... I have never in my life left no tip, but how could...
