China King — Restaurant in Jackson

Too Americianized! Totally void of Feng Shui decor -- no fish tank, or indoor water display, or plants. That should have been our clue.

Customer service was not very good -- appeared to have 2 people working and it was lunch time. The first person did not take our order, but got the gentleman to take it. No staff greeting us or offering to seat us, so we did a take out, hoping that the reviews were right.

Only one single customer was eating in the restaurant, a few came in to place an order. Tables were sparse, devoid of the usual Chinese stuff, too. No place mats or decor on the tables.

I ordered sweet and sour chicken. The chicken looks like frozen chicken nuggets and did not have any taste to them. The only thing sweet and sour was the sauce, no pineapples. I asked for extra vegetables with it, not sure I got anything extra -- some bean pods, broccoli, carrots, onions, and a few red peppers. Other order was beef broccoli.

You had to get your own drinks and your own soy sauce. Both orders were missing bean sprouts. Only choice for take out was fried rice or white rice, not noodles or whole/ brown rice. No bags of fortune cookies available for sale, either.

The store is very clean. No restrooms and I had to go really bad to be used. Take out only or delivery. I couldn't hardly understand her behind the glass she did not speak loud enough. We usually order at the Lucky Cafe. We decided to try China King since it was in walking distance of our home. we are in several different items like the sweet and sour chicken I guess it was all right. Crab ragu I will never order that there again it was very hard and gross teriyaki chicken which was half hard half not I could barely chew it my shrimp and mushrooms is very good I did enjoy that. The food is kind of okey. I had egg drop soup,chicken fried rice and chicken curry. Egg soup was given hot in a plastic cup, which gave me a bad impression. The chicken fried rice was over fried,The chicken curry was okey.
