Roger is very kind, and warm-hearted. He said this is the “Ultimate Retirement Job”. Since, Amtrak removed ticketing and all interaction with guests, Jackson Station (#Wolverine) is the “only #HistoricRailroadStationOpenAndStaffed “. Roger announces over the PA the arrival of the train. He dons his yellow safety vest and paroles the passenger corridor to be the Watchman over passenger safety boarding and disembarking. You can tell that Roger loves every minute giving oversight. He has even written a short story book. You should read the first one. Every father should!
Join in the excitement of arriving 15 minutes before the #AmtrakWolverine rounds the bend from Pontiac, MI. Or, from the West out of the woods comes Amtrak from Chicago. By this time, the Chicago train may only have 3 cars. And, after all those stops and unexpected delays, the Wolverine might be 45 minutes behind schedule (shed-dual) like it was tonight on 07.15.2019

If you walk outside and go straight out to e. Michigan avenue you can walk to a couple of Coney islands..Virginia and Jackson Coney island are just around the corner..If your visiting in the summer go to cascades falls park in the evening and in the winter to sled.
