UPDATED TO REFLECT CHANGES AT THE BOTTOM: from 3 stars back to 5 Sadly I have to change my review today. I absolutely love the food absolutely love the service and atmosphere is amazing. I lowered the star rating for this wonderful building I've been coming to since I was a child because of the new owners. Straight greed. I was more than appalled today to get a plate with 15 french fries on it for $2.99 plus $1.50 more for a scoop of gravy. $4.50 for literally 15 french fries. I took my son here for the first time in years so we could have the family experience I've enjoyed since I was a child myself. But this kind of broke the moment. $9 for a burger on top of $4.50 for this small amount of french fries. I was almost embarrassed. What a sad sad day. Hopefully these new greedy owners change their ways. Looks like I'm going to have to slide on down to Virginia Coney Island now on the other end of the block. At least I'll get my money's worth there! UPDATE: upon revisiting obviously the customers spoken owner heard! They have since made the fry portion a lot bigger so I'm changing my review back to five stars. I did eat a few french fries before I took the picture I was hungry! THANK YOU FOR WORKING WITH THE CUSTOMERS TO KEEP THIS PLACE AMAZING!

I visited this Coney restaurant recently after noticing new owners and was eager to support a local business. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with my meal. The coneys were so greasy that the bun was actually orange and soggy from all the oil. The onions had a strange, off-putting brown color, and I have no idea what they were cooked in, but it didn’t taste good at all. To top it off, the hot dog itself was burnt, leaving it with a tough, rubbery texture that was hard to eat. And to add insult to injury, the order of fries I received was so small it felt like an afterthought—definitely not worth the price. I’ve included photos to show just how greasy and unappetizing the food was. I really wanted to like this place, but the food quality was just not up to par. I won’t be returning and won’t recommend it to others. I hope the new owners take this feedback seriously and make improvements.

My sister and I came in today and really wanted to enjoy a classic diner. The interior was cute and felt nostalgic. But when I ordered a full size of fried pickles and compared it to her full side of cheese waffle fries to share, the portions were extremely different. Ive never seen such a small portions size for a sharable appetizer for $7.00. Her fries were $9.00. There were about 7 pickles on the plate. The manager was friendly and came over to explain that, that is their normal portion size, and she did take them off our final bill. I just think people should be aware of that when ordering, since it is very small compared to other places. Other than having to get our own napkins from the bar, the food that we did eat, was good and the interior was cute.

Scott doesn’t listen. He doesn’t care. Instead of taking feedback like a grown adult and trying to improve his business, he jumps straight into defensive mode — screaming “fake review,” accusing people of being competitors, or flat-out calling them liars. It’s pathetic. I’ve eaten at this place weekly — bare minimum — for damn near 40 years. I’ve watched it go from one of my favorite spots to a complete joke since Scott took over. The quality is trash, the consistency is gone, and the atmosphere? Toxic. And when loyal customers — people who have been supporting this place for decades — try to give him honest feedback, he throws a tantrum. Literally. He yells, pouts, sulks, and acts like a child who didn’t get his way. I left a comment on their Facebook page — nothing outrageous. A week later, Scott finally replies with a smug, condescending response that didn’t even address what I said. Then he blocked me before I could respond. Coward move. But I’m done — I wouldn’t walk into one of his places again if the food was free. Want a real coney? Walk a few doors down to Virginia Coney Island. They’ve had a recent ownership change too — but guess what? The new owners actually care. They’re making smart improvements, the food’s solid, and the staff is some of the friendliest I’ve ever met. You feel like a guest — not like an inconvenience, which is exactly how you’re treated under Scott’s rule. I’ve run several successful businesses over the past 30 years. Rule number one: Don’t treat your customers like garbage. Scott does the exact opposite — and he seems proud of it. He’s running this place straight into the ground, and it’s painful to watch. The guy is a clown, a tool, and absolutely the worst kind of person to be running a business. EDIT Thanks for proving my point. Your numbers continue to grow bc the prices are outrageous, definitely not because of "Quality" food. You open boxes and cans ....that's not cooking . I couldn't careless that you blocked me , if you don't act like a tool , people won't call you a tool 🤷‍♂️ To be clear , I only resorted to name calling , after my calm , respectful comment received an arrogant, cocky, condescending...

I just had the worse carry out experience ever and would recommend everyone not to go there. At 4:30pm today my coworker called in a large carry out order over $45 and was told the food would be ready in 15 minutes 9 coney dogs and 3 chili cheese fries. I left work as I'm RN to go pick up the order and arrived at 4:50 figuring my order would be ready it wasn't and it wasn't even started. I was told at 5:15pm 45 minutes after calling in the order that there was no cheese for the French fries so I said I wanted my money back for the 3 chili cheese fries and thanks for wasting my time why didn't you tell me this when I ordered or paid for it supposedly they just ran out. Not one employee could refund me my money from the cash register as they didn't know how. This very rude nasty employee named Destiny told me to leave she wasn't refunding my money. I had to call the police in order for this place to refund me my $23 for the chili cheese fries. Unbelievable what type of business are you running that you make a nurse wait 45 minutes on a 15 minute carry out order while she's on lunch break to bring food back for employees and residents. Then you never bother to tell me you have no cheese until I'm sitting and waiting for 20 minutes and you don't apologize and you can't refund my money until the police are called. This is what I call piss poor customer service and no one should have to go through what I just did today. Not only was Destiny rude, nasty, totally inappropriate but she looks like she walked out of a ghetto bar with tattoos, piercing and her clothes way to tight for a heavy woman with big breast. Totally inappropriate behavior and appearance. Don't go there if you value your time, money, and food quality. Beware don't go there you...

I used to love coming here because the cheese coneys were cheap and good, but after struggling with this place for months to pick up the phone or be open at all, it's gotten rather frustrating to even consider coming here. On top of that, I can't believe I spent about $36 recently on two VERY small Philly cheesesteak wraps on a cold burrito tortilla and 2 coneys. The wraps were not worth what I paid for them and they were not very good. Very little flavor, small, and the tortilla was cold and awful. It could've been steamed or heated on the grill, but it looked like something my old stoner roommate would throw together from various leftovers from the fridge and whatever stale tortillas we had lying around. I used to frequent this place but I'm not interested in ordering again after that last visit.

Edit: absolutely nuts that the owner is going to claim I went somewhere else to try and save face. Attacking customers is not going to make your business look better. I have the receipt and transaction on my bank statement that clearly says "Jackson Coney Island." And actually you're correct--I misremembered the $36. It was actually $32.82 exactly, which is still more than what the owner replied. If you're not supposed to be selling Philly cheesesteak wraps, that's a conversation you need to have with your staff, not the customer who paid for it. I lowered my star rating for this sort of behavior. Not worth the 2 I initially posted. Have the day...
