We have been to ComeUnity Cafe more than any other single restaurant in Jackson. Staff and volunteers are always very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is comfortable, clean and inviting, and the food is always very good. Service is very quick, though not fast food quick, and it would be easy to get something to go on a short lunch break. There are always and least two salad, soup, and sandwich options, always fresh and often made with local ingredients. Beverages are always good (especially the coffee) but you won't find any soft drinks. The prices are reasonable and are on a donation model. Read moreVisiting ComeUnity is a wonderful experience on many levels. The atmosphere is warm and casual, but also upbeat and bright. The servers are always friendly and attentive. We've yet to eat food there that wasn't spectacular. The ingredients often come from local suppliers (and we know a couple of them and can vouch for their integrity). The chefs make an effort to create unique dishes that compete well with any fine dining establishment. Add to all of the above that by eating there, you are joining Amy Crenshaw and her team in serving the entire community. Read moreOn our visit prompted by Johnny Cash's 'Jackson' we came across this great café. We had a roast beef and cheese press which was delicious. The lovely volunteers explained the concept to us which was that healthy food should be available to all regardless whether they can afford to pay. Suggested amounts of donations are made, those that cannot pay, work for an hour in exchange for food. The whole place is run by volunteers of which there were many.
