Hub City Brewing — Restaurant in Jackson

Edit 9/19/25: tellin ya, take cash and it's 5 stars for me lol. Phenomenal evening, phenomenal beer, phenomenal staff. Not really a pace for cocktails still, but fantastic whiskey selection for neat pours. Beer is still delicious.

Great staff great vibe decent prices. Would bump to 5⭐ but they don't take cash(only reason not 5). I came here tonight because I saw a review or something that said great cocktail selection, but ... not quite(I didn't see chartreuse, campari, Fernet, Benedictine, vermouths, etc etc...hard to pick up great cocktails in Jackson tbh). They did have a great whiskey selection though, and the beer is great. So instead of cocktails I got some very tasty beer. Not as bright as I personally like, but it's not very dark either. Music was not too loud, and much appreciated, personal taste. They have an outdoor area, last I knew welcomed dogs there, with sand volleyball and outside bar. MANY bat games, they might as well host a bar decathlon Olympics sometime: board games, tabletop shuffleboard, mini bowling, pool, darts, Cornhole, even foosball. Take cash and the...

Great hang out spot in downtown Jackson. They have lots of board games you can play and TVs with different sporting events on. They have several house brews and it’s fun the try the different flavors. The bowling lanes, however, were a complete waste of money. We rented the lane for an hour and paid for six people to get shoes, got less than 30 minutes of play, lane froze up, asked them to reset and was met with less than friendly response, she walked behind the lane and pushed a button and returned to the bar, nothing was fixed so I asked again, she shot me a look then turned her head like she didn’t hear me, went and pushed a button again which still didn’t fix anything, we waited and waited and finally returned our shoes with 18 minutes left and on only the third frame. I should note that this was not a busy night at all. There were maybe 20 people there when we walked out. This place has lots of potential but they need to work on their service or else they won’t stay in...

Terrible execution of a Brewery with excellent potential. Hub City Brewing is located in an area of Jackson that is rejuvenating, and they could be a major part of this, but their hours are terrible and they haven’t aligned with food-truck affiliates to provide food.

So if you want to go to hub city on a weeknight. You have to get food from elsewhere, show up, enjoy some beer and be gone by 9. Even the weekend close at 11 makes it a sad and resigned crowd.

If you want to have a beer and handle lunch business; no luck.

Blacksmith is regularly servicing more people because they have regular hours and have food.

It will be sad to see this brewery fail, as it fails south...
