As its name suggest, Artessence does have something to do with art. There are 2 associations really. Firstly, if you enter into Artessence, you’ll see different sections of the cafe displaying different art pieces from famous artists. Taking a look around, you’ll find art from artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet and more. Secondly and more importantly why Artessence is named as such, is because the owners compare making a great cup of coffee as being similar to making a work of art:
Not all coffee preparations become a good coffee.
Not all artistic works become masterpieces.
The menu of Artessence Coffee Shop was indeed quite extensive. You can choose from all-day breakfasts, hamburgers, sandwiches, desserts and coffees. After browsing through the menu, we decided to go with
Fuseli Sandwich. Bacon, lettuce, tomato, house cream cheese and meat. ($15.60)
Samuel’s Coffee. Double espresso, warm milk and honey ($5.72)
After ordering our breakfast, we were told by the owners that Samuel’s Coffee was actually named after a guest who ordered the drink 3 times a day! After 2 months, they decided to name the drink after Samuel – a double espresso with warm milk and honey. Turns out, Samuel’s Coffee tasted excellent. We could taste the mild honey flavours which was surprisngly good in coffee! Perhaps one of the cafes in Singapore could serve it as well.
As for the Fuseli sandwich, it was delicious. We loved the home-made sauce that came with the sandwich as well as the mild blue cheese and dill within. There was also a generous serving of chips on the side and the sandwich was good for 2 to share. The coffee and sandwich this morning was an excellent perk-me-up to start our day in Jacksonville.

Why do we go to a coffee shop? We're working, brainstorming, meeting clients, getting our day planned out or working on a master plan of a way to quit our day job 🤣 lol. Not many of us are just grabbing a coffee and heading out the door. We need a comfortable seat, strong coffee and the Wi-Fi password. 💪 Most places miss with the seating. Wooden chairs, metal stools-dont entice me to stay. Couches are nice but it's inconvenient to balance my laptop on... Well, my lap. 👀
This place gets it right Here we have great chairs, plenty of table space, colored pencils on every table, the couches have plenty of TV tables beside them making it so comfy to sit there and still have convenient access to your computer. The playlist is🔥 . The art is inspirational and the owners are so friendly and welcoming.
I spent a morning here working. During that time many locals came in but what stood out the most was the owner running to the door to yell at a less fortunate passerby to come back. He returned to the door to provide breakfast and coffee to the person, whom he addressed by name, and spoke to with so much respect as he wished him a good day. Clearly he's done this before. So representative of the citizens of Springfield. 🌺. Wtbs. add this to your list if you have yet to visit.
And please leave a tip.. or at least say keep the change. Pay it forward to assist feeding the next guy that walks by with an empty stomach and is treated to a bite to eat and a "have a good day", with dignity. 10/10 Coffee is...
Read moreCoffee shops are by far my favorite places to stop in for, I think I saw someone post a review about this place on Facebook and just the picture really caught my attention so track it down to give it a shot. As far as the decor goes This place is very picturesque, I came in early in the morning on a weekday and I'm pretty sure it was the owners that were there they were super nice, as far as coffee goes I really feel like they're menu gives you the type of options outside of the normal that you might be looking for didn't know you wanted to try, the sandwich I had was also amazing It was a sausage egg and cheese but it came on a rosemary bread that was super soft and tasty if you're a big fan of unique coffee shops and you're in the Jacksonville area you'll definitely want to stop by...
