The Garage — Restaurant in Jacksonville

If you get Autumn for your server I am genuinely sorry for you. I had come into The Garage with a few friends to hang out and have some drinks. From the jump this girl seemed to have an issue with us as in her demeanor was disgusting. She took my drink order and than than blatantly stared at me for a solid min before taking my friends order than did the same to her, it was awkward and uncomfortable. She did not come back to our table the entire time to check on us once. My friends and I are servers and we deal with people everyday and we know how hard it is. We were going to take care of the tip even though she only checked on us once, that is until she sneered at us from across the bar and whispered something to her friend we were so shocked, that we decided to leave a note on the receipt just to let the girl know how she was coming off. All the note said was “ nasty attitude “ she than chased us out side with the receipt and than YELLED at us. We couldn’t make out what she said as the music was loud and we were a few feet away. This is honestly the most disgusting customer service experience I have ever had. I am very upset and disappointed in the way I was treated this past Saturday at the Garage's St. Patrick's Day party. I was at the Garage between 3-7pm and had a total of 3 drinks within that 4 hours (I was not drunk whatsoever). I got up to use the restroom at one point and started to feel dizzy. I proceeded to pass out, and when I regained consciousness, the only help I received was from a woman who did not even work there. A security team member assumed I was drunk and insisted that I leave the premises immediately. At this point, I was still very dizzy and could not walk. My friends tried to explain to him that I was sober and that this was a medical issue, but he either did not believe them or did not care. I received no help from any staff member of the Garage and was kicked out for doing absolutely nothing wrong. I tried to come back 5 hours later after I had rehydrated and eaten some food. However, the same security officer kicked me out again for no reason. He said I was not welcome back that day, which made absolutely no sense because I had never done anything wrong. My wife and I were in the area and hungry for a late lunch and happy hour drinks. This place doesn’t open until the afternoon so we were the first and only people there, which was fine with us. My wife liked her sangria and my Bloody Mary was delicious! My wife really enjoyed her cheese steak and the chicken sandwich I had was better than anywhere I’ve been in a while. Because we sat at the bar, the bartender served us. She recommended this to die for chocolate cake that we ended up sharing. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations in service and food and drink quality. The only reason they didn’t get five stars is because they need better happy hour specials. I would recommend this place to my friends and family....
