I had Cause Yum Custom Cakes to make my two tier retirement cake. I contacted several different bakeries but no one could beat her price; which made me move forward to the cake tasting. I ended up choosing yellow cake for one tier and red velvet for the second tier, but unfortunately (like a lot of different places) her's tasted like chocolate cake which I hate. In the end, I really liked her price and I asked her could I just give her a recipe for the red velvet cake to use. She said that that would be fine and I booked her. Fast forward to my retirement ceremony, my cake was delivered on time and it was exactly what I asked for. Everyone loved the visual. Unfortunately, the "love" stopped there. I have a lot of bakers in my family and as soon as I cut into the cake they immediately noticed there was a problem. The cake crumbled with every cut. They said that the cake had to have been frozen for a period of time for that to happen. Next, I tried the red velvet cake and it was the exact same cake I said I did not like. Plus, it was also crumbly to the touch. I was very disappointed; especially with the amount of money I paid for the cake (I said she had the best price but it still was not cheap). I ended up throwing 3/4 of the cake away because it tasted old and gritty. I called the baker a week or so later and she did offer me a $100 gift certificate. I HIGHLY recommend Cause Yum Custom Cakes for all of your custom baking needs!! I'm visiting Jacksonville for my girlfriend's birthday and wanted to treat her and her family to an extra special birthday cake, and she really likes Lord of the Rings, so I figured why not have a Lord of the Rings cake made? The only problem with that is that I have absolutely no artistic or baking abilities. So I was exuberant when I reached out to Cause Yum Cakes and Rickie, who is an absolute cake making genius, was ready to serve my cake making needs! She keeps the process simple and her customer service skills are superb, as there was never a question that I had that went unanswered for more than a few hours, if that! She didn't have a whole lot to work with, since all I really did was send a picture of what I was hoping to have created for me, but she took that picture and created an absolutely stunning cake through her artistic vision! On top of the wonderful experience and end product, her prices were WELL within reason, especially when you consider the effort that she had put forth to turn this vision into a reality. If you love supporting locally owned, small businesses, this is a wonderful and very honest venture to support.

This cake was even more beautiful in person. She did an incredible job and was helpful with my requests. I have no complaints what so ever. I didn't know much about the theme; just that my son plays the game constantly. I didnt have much to go with and told her I trust her with design. She definitely did research and did not disappoint! Her fondant skills were impressive and immaculate. The cake turned out better than I could have imagined.

We've actually used her previously and I was bummed I had lost her info. I was searching and searching and happened to reach out to her again solely based on her work. It wasn't until after I placed my order that my sister told me Cause Yum was in fact who I had been searching for. Most importantly the cake tastes as wonderful as it looks. We previously sampled flavors with the cake she made prior to this one and fell in love with every flavor! She goes above and beyond to give you what you want and more... to top it all off she is a really nice person. I will definitely not lose her info this time. I'm a customer for as long as she'll have me. 💚
