Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Food itself was good, the over 40 minute wait not so much. Got in a line that wasn’t long at all, took over 10 minutes for the 2 cars at the screen to move up, when I get to the window the employee says they don’t need my coupon code until the window but then proceeds to get confused on what the coupon is for and has me repeat myself until finally just asking for the code, which by then 2 cars that were behind me already got through and were in front of me (one of which I heard read a coupon code with no problem). Get to the window and pay only to be told to go back through the line and get behind the car behind me. By the time I made it around the building another car had joined so now at least 4 people that were behind me were served first (some of which had multiple bags so I’m confused on why my smaller order got put on the back burner). Back to the window and a different employee seems confused on why I’m in line again, picks up my order from a bunch of bags sitting there. I get home and not only were none of the sauces for the tenders there, but neither was the large mashed potatoes that was supposed to be there (yet they made sure to charge 3.50 for a small mashed potatoes that I thought was included with the 3 piece dark meat meal that they only had legs for apparently). Was disappointed all around in the lack of accuracy or communication that some tenders would take almost an hour to get. Was excited when this location opened up since the Popeyes in Callahan has left me pulled up outside for over half an hour before and not even started my meal until I went in upset that I was forgotten, but it seems the standard is across the board. I go to the location at 1324 Dunn Ave a lot at least once a week but the last couple of times I wasn’t happy with the service or the food. Every time I go I ask for fresh hot chicken straight out of the grease and also chicken tenders but the last couple times there were issues the tenders were small and hard and this one particular cook with the blond tip globs gave me attitude and ignored my request for fresh hot chicken straight out the grease he sat there eating and said I had to take the chicken that was already cooked. I this issue before so yes I was not happy at all I asked to speak to management and when I spoke to the manager she went and told him to make fresh spicy chicken. I guess he didn’t like that so he took his time doing it he dropped mild chicken and when that came up he dropped tenders and wings then finally he dropped the spicy chicken I was waiting on. I feel like I should get what I ask for if I’m paying my hand earned money for it I spent 48.33 on my food and I deserve to get it exactly how I want it. If I had the number to the owner I would call and make a complaint because I placed my order at 7:06 PM and I didn’t receive it until 8:04 PM there’s no way I should’ve had to wait a whole hour for my food when I know that it takes about 18 minutes to cook the chicken I’ve worked in fast food in the past and I know how long it takes and I also know that you never ever gives customer attitude the way he did me. I don’t know if I will ever go back to that location again because I felt mistreated and disrespected and very unhappy by the time I received my food I had lost my appetite. I think they getting better. I don't go here often no more. Chicken usual not hot and/or you're greeted with bad attitudes. I did have to wait a while but the mgr on duty made sure I was made whole. And although I can tell some workers don't like each other or get along, they didn't exhibit it or took it out on the customers. Everyone was pleasant and courteous. And my chicken was fresh and hot. And the store was clean.

UPDATE: This place is horrible. Total opposite of my previous review. Mgrs and crew are terrible. I witnessed and reported 2 incidents. A male mgr cursed and ran in a female's face and threatened to do physical harm. When he realized I was recording he walked off still cursing in front of everybody. The other incident was an older female mgr. She was just rude for no reason. Slammed the drive thru window in prior face while they were talking. This Popeyes is the absolute worst. I don't get to eat here like that because of my health. But I tried them twice within the past year and each time the experience was unforgettable in a very negative way.

I've lowered my rating of this place. Avoid this location at all cost. Sad I'm a homeowner in the area and this does affect the value of the area. I should want people to come here but I'd rather an empty building than a bad - horrible situation that'll soon pop off with the...
