RACIST-my family and I are an integrated family and have been there several times with either me at the window or my wife while the other would be off to the side with our children. I am a school teacher and my wife is an engineer; both very educated. within the several experiences we have had here they have shown my wife how rude they can be, yet when I walk up to the window to order I have had nothing but great customer service. we decided to try an experiment. we asked my sister to come with us so that she could sit with the kids as I stood behind my wife as a patron apart from her. my wife went up, mind you she is brown in color while I am not. when my wife asked if they had mint chocolate chip the girl behind the window was very rude asking several times if my wife could read and very nasty continued to say no. before my wife there was a white woman who had asked multiple questions in which the replies were in yes ma'am and no ma'am fashion. so I was very perplexed at the way my wife was spoken to. I thought that maybe the girl had been worn out from all if the questions from the customer beforehand, which was still inexcusable for the way she spoke to my wife. as I walked up there I asked a question and was responded to courteously and as I ordered was treated very politely. I was floored, absolutely astonished. this business has been around for over 70 years and I can not believe what happened today. for years my wife had been telling me that they treat her different and I would laugh it off. I was completely wrong. how could a business who has had such success be so RACIST. I can't even fathom. are the customers and supporters of this business as ignorant to the business's racism as I was or are they customers and supporters just as racist. I will never visit the. again and I will put this post up every where I can and have as many people share it. this is half way through...

I am BIG on customer service. My husband and I went there to order ice cream for ourselves and the kids. We both brought a brownie sundae with multiple toppings. Once back in the car my husband noticed his was missing the brownie after taking two bites hoping to get a taste of the brownie. By this time I have not had a taste of mine, so he had me check for my brownie which I was missing. He went back to have them remake it with the brownie, which they said he would have to pay additional for the brownies and they would put it on the side. He refused rightly so.... So I seen my husband was getting quite annoyed, so I kindly ask the worker to explain the logic behind repaying for their mistake. He explained that the female worker did not charge him for the brownie sundae correctly. Once again a fault of their own. So in the end they refused to make it again and instead refunded our money. Which in the end they lost out twice (with refunding the money, and wasting the ice cream, which we left). It was quite disappointing that they would not do right on their own mistake. They have definitely lost a customer. I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME THERE. Hopefully this helps someone, if you are thinking of approaching them with a mistake. I hope this behavior was just an accident on the employee and that the owner does not condone...

CASH ONLY. This is an old Jacksonville favorite. Their portion sizes are generous and their prices fair. What you see is what you get, and my only wish is that they would get real whipped cream because we love a hot fudge sundae or banana splits and they just seem naked without real whipped cream! Otherwise, their ingredients have a level of quality control and brand awareness (for example, they use real Oreo cookies and real Reeses peanut butter cups). They are almost always super busy so be patient and courteous from what can be a hairy parking situation to what is always a pretty fast moving but long line. I always get a little chuckle as to the demonstrably conservative leanings of the owner in this part of town when they'll post signs about denying you service for not having your pants pulled up, but have no issue serving the maskless during a global pandemic with a mask mandate and proudly taking a stance with all lives and blue lives matter.
