As someone who's worked shift leader at over 10 firehouse subs I was so appalled yesterday when I came in for a sub.
Number one. Nobody was friendly but one gentlemen, I was unable to see his name tag but he was the only person speaking kindly to customers. The woman (I will post a pic below) was not nice to her customers OR her employees.
The options for sub toppings, bread, and meat were limited because someone isn't doing their ordering properly. To top that off the pickles aren't being stored properly and have gone stale so they were basically hard as a rock and like rubber. Both tea's were empty and the drink station was filthy as we're the bathrooms.
My biggest concern. I ordered a gluten free item. The bread was dropped with the same gloves as the other bread. The sub bread was then picked up and put together with the same gloves as the regular subs. The rest of the sub was made with the same exact gloves and then cut with the same knife and on the same cutting board.
Cross contamination is a risk in a kitchen that also produces gluten items but there was not one single action taken to lower that risk that was taught when gluten free options were introduced at fire house.
They also didn't make a glove change for someone who was allergic to pickles.
I was too scared to even eat my meal after witnessing with my own eyes their lack of effort to create a safe eating environment for people with celiac / gluten intolerant and sensitive individuals. Due to their attitudes (mostly the lady and the other male posted in the pic) I was too uncomfortable to request them to follow the proper protocol by changing their gloves and cleaning the station properly to reduce the risks at cross contamination and I was too uncomfortable to request another sub.
I handed the sub off to a homeless man outside and went to another firehouse were i paid again for my meal and watched them so everything step by step correctly at the jax beaches location.
Please leave a phone number or email to respond to for further feedback. I'd love to communicate on that situation to create a clean, safe, friendly food environment with gluten free options for our community because we are definitely limited on those...
Read moreAbsolute horrible service. I ordered food from here through Uber Eats and paid $26 for a meal. I ordered a foot long tuna and side Mac n cheese. When I got my food, my sandwich only had tuna on half of the sub. It was thrown in the bag upside down and falling out of the box. Same with the Mac n cheese. No napkins or silverware were provided. I also ordered sun chips for my side and they gave me lays. Absolutely infuriating due to cost and wanting to have a sandwich with actual meat on it. I called the store and spoke to Javaris, the general manager of this store. He said he would personally issue me a refund and if I came back to the store they would give me a free meal. I was super pleased with that promise. Wasn’t trying to get free food, but it was the thought. Well a week goes by and I haven’t gotten the refund. I called him back and he said he will directly issue me the money if I didn’t get it in a few more days. So yesterday I decided to go up and get that free meal if I wasn’t going to get a refund. I called ahead and spoke to a female manager who just so happens to be the only woman manager there. She says all I need to bring is my receipt from the previous order. All would be handled. So I get there, and she’s super nice to the man in front of me. As SOON as she gets to me, immediately rude af. She doesn’t even know what I need. So i explain and now she’s even more rude, says that she never spoke to me and no one’s relayed the message to her when i told her i spoke to a female manager and she made me aware she’s the only female manager. So now i am a liar? tells me to move to the side so she can take the other 10 peoples orders from behind me. I’m on a short window of time for my lunch break at work so this upsets me. She gets javaris on the phone. He tells her I need to contact uber eats directly that he isn’t refunding me, after almost 3 weeks have gone by at this point. Now getting a refund wouldn’t happen, and I am stuck waiting 15 minutes longer for my remake. I will NEVER be coming back to...
Read moreI stopped into a Firehouse (Atlantic & Hodges) I Ordered a turkey bacon sub, with a side of honey mustard. In the past I’ve always been asked “Would like that fully involved?”, with mayo & grain mustard. There were no less than 5 people standing along the line, Including a manager. I had to ask for the side of honey mustard that I ordered. I checked my bag. Check all your order before leaving, is my advice. I chose FH for its fast food service. Not here! My sub had Mayo, no mustard. The worst part was, THERE WAS NO BACON!! 👀 The onions were soggy and cut too thin. The usually warm & satisfying sandwich was a cold sub. I am disappointed after trying to call and speak to a manager. The line just rang & rang.I chose Firehouse, because they are traditionally good product with a”Welcome to Firehouse”, positive attitude. Not at this location. After the first bite, the sandwich was yucky with the slimy onions, was cold and bread wasn’t as good as I remembered.I usually love the steaming too! My fault for not saying “steam it please”. I guess the menu has changed. I looked at all the reviews for this stores location,it appears that “WRONG ORDER” is a consistent problem going back 2 years. I tried calling to speak to a manager, line just rings & rings, but perhaps I’ll give them another call tomorrow. I am Hoping Management uses this as a teaching/training opportunity. Firehouse offers many options for what and how your sandwich is made. It’s a detail oriented job. Especially when placing the order. Peace to all & have...
