Update: previous review was 5 stars because the few times we had been here, we had a good time. Well, today 12/30/18, was a different story. We went there to see if they were going to be playing the Steeler game, which was on at 430. When you walk in, the sign says "seat yourself" but none of the TVs were labeled for the afternoon games, so we waited a moment for a server to walk by so we could ask about our game. When a server walked by we asked her about the steeler game and she told us "we'll put it wherever you want it, just have a seat". We then asked her to confirm the volume for the steeler game would be on so she walked over to the manager who was a middle aged man, clean cut, with short dark hair (maybe the owner? ), and said something to him. He responded while shaking his head in a way that seemed it was out of annoyance. She walked back over to us and said "the volume is on overhead for the game (which we assumed was the steeler game since that is the game we just asked about) sit wherever you want". So we found a few steeler fans and sat near them. We sat for about 10 mins before we had to ask someone to clean off the table and take our drink order. Finally the lady who we spoke to up front came and took our drink order and cleaned off the table. We mentioned to her about the volume for the steeler game because what was playing overhead at the time was the cowboy game and the steeler game hadn't even started airing, so it wasn't like it was the same channel and the steeler game would automatically kick on once the cowboy game was done. She went to talk to the same manager guy again, following him outside. She returned a moment later and said he was changing some TVs outside and he'd be back in a moment to fix it. He slowly strolled back inside (at this point the steeler game had been on for about 5 mins and we had no audio) and placed the remote on the host stand. My mother walked over to him and asked him about the audio. He told her he couldn't turn the audio on, it was already set overhead for another game. She said that was ok and asked him if we could at least have the Brown's game on one of the smaller TVs (which were blacked out at the time, with no game on) near where we were sitting. None of the TVs were labeled for the afternoon games and the browns game had very big implications for the Steelers' playoff chances so we wanted to be able to pay close attention to their game. This is where it gets ugly. The manager guy started speaking to my mom in a very annoyed and condescending tone and told her he would "get to it when he could".... "it's not like I have 60 different TVs to worry about". My mom was walking away at this point and she told around and told him "I'm only asking you to change 1, and the TV I'm asking about is currently blacked out, so obviously no one else is watching it". He responded with "yeah but you already got one, but that's not good enough is it, you gotta have 2". The manager guy said all this with a fake smirk on his face and I read right through it. The server returned with our drinks and I offered to pay for them but told her we were leaving. She said not to worry about it so I thanked her and we left. My only regret is not leaving her a few dollars for taking her table for the time we were there. There are a number of issues with this situation. The lack of clear communication to the wait staff from their superior, the lack of planning for different games before the day began, and the extremely rude demeanor and complete absence of professionalism exemplified by the superior on staff. It amazes me this place is able to stay open for business. We will certainly NEVER give them another dime...
Read moreI want to start this post off by saying I LOVED Jerryâs Grille. Iâve made plenty of comments about how much I love this place.
Well, the experience my family just had is ridiculous in my opinion. Probably because there was no actual manager here at this moment. My brother ordered a plate of fish with shrimp and the sides. Mind you my brother had been sick and even told the waitress when she took our drink orders that he wanted a soda with a water because his throat has been bothering him. Skip to when he got his food. He took ONE bite of his shrimp, and he started coughing and coughed up a shrapnel of metal, like from a metal scrubbie. Very dangerous if ingested, OBVIOUSLY!
So I walk up to the waitress and ask for a manager because my brother had a piece of METAL in his food, that thank GOD he didnât swallow. She comes back and tells us thereâs no actual manager here right now, only Tony, who we and probably everyone knows to be quite the D bag. So she tells us WE can go talk to him where heâs at because heâs busy (I get that, even though it wasnât that busy). He never took even 2 minutes to come apologize or ANYTHING. So my brother goes to talk to him and he didnât really care to apologize all he said was he wanted to know where it came from.
My brother decides to let him remake the plate which I personally wouldnât have done, it even ruined my appetite and it wasnât even my food. But watching my brother cough up a piece of metal didnât really help. We go to pay, my brother decided to get his to go, and I ask if the plate is gonna be comped which in my opinion shouldnât have been a problem.
Well Tony, being Tony says itâs gonna be half off. My brother raised NO kind of fuss about the piece of METAL he almost ingested. I think comping ONE plate would have been appropriate. Needless to say, as much as I have love dining at Jerryâs for YEARS, this is our last time visiting. I didnât even want to take the rest of my food with me. I would love to think that had there been an actual manager who cares about their customers experiences and safety, it would have been different. Tony obviously is not a people person, and doesnât care about his guests experiences. He was being sarcastic about the whole thing like it was OUR fault.
So, just beware, be careful, and keep your eyes open. Also I apologize this post is so long Iâm just very unnerved about this...
Read moreWent there last year during football season, food order was late coming out and wrong, never sent food back before ever but it was not even close. Was there watching a football game so we could wait. And we did. Over an hour. The waitress forgot to pick up the food, and it was cold. Were too starved at this point to send it back. Then wanted to order dessert, but couldn't get the waitress's attention to even bring us the bill. We had to go pay up at the bar. I've NEVER complained about service before, but went to the manager. As we were speaking to him, the waitress screamed across the restaurant at us! We got a gift card for $20 to come back. Fast forward a YEAR. We go tonight. Order food. Order comes out wrong, I ordered sweet potato fries. No biggie, but on the bill, I got charged $4 for an 'extra' order of fries. Got that rectified. Asked 3 times for a 'to go' cup for my lady's tea. Burger was LOW quality meat and undercooked severely. Buffalo wrap was just DRIPPING out the sides with hot sauce. It was supposed to be buffalo, not a chicken wrap with hot sauce poured in after it was cooked!
Ugh, avoid this place. The same dumpy waitress that gave last year's terrible service and rudeness was there, but luckily, we got some lady who speaks very little English and didn't introduce herself....
Mold was all over the A/C vent in the ceiling, and it was wet and dripping near our food. The waitresses seated next to us were wrapping silverware and eating at the same time, licking their fingers and then WRAPPING silverware. So when you use their utensils, you are getting THEIR germs, folks! The corner we were seated in was not in direct view of the bar, and was the 'texting' corner for the waitresses, and every few minutes they were over by us wildly texting and scowling, out of view of management.
Worst of all, there was a obviously intoxicated Gator fan who was just SCREAMING at every play, and they still continued to serve him alcohol.
I was just waiting for the guy from 'Bar Rescue' to come in and cuss...
