Visited:: 31Mar25. I don't know if I caught them on a slow day or what it was. My roommate has gone on and on about this place, how it's good BBQ. Well we finally went. I'm a fair reviewer if you see my other reviews, I tell the good and the bad. Personal honest opinion. We entered and was hardly greeted, he just said how many sit wherever. There was a son and dad, a couple and the bar and us. The server then came up didn't say her name, didn't say I'll be the one taking care of you etc. no enthusiasm no smile. Actually no one was. She brought us our drinks took our order. I was informed that the 2 meat platter would be enough to eat now and have some for work tomorrow. That was not the case. My roommate ordered a beer didn't ask if she wanted another until it was gone and we were done eating. My water was empty by the time she got me a new one. She never came and asked how everything was can I get you anything etc. I asked for hot sauce for my collard greens which is fine but should have been addressed maybe when the food came out. She was too busy talking to other co workers instead of serving us. The food was alright, I've gotten bigger portions at Bono's, Sonny's or missions. Things were bland honestly. She never asked if we wanted an appetizer or dessert at the end, which is usually asked for sales purposes. The whole atmosphere was down, everyone acted like they didn't want to be there. I watched a family get a to go order and they were hardly greeted and barely talked to. I believe it shouldn't matter if I'm there and it's busy or not the service and people just need to look and be enthusiastic and not look down and sad. Unsure of giving it...
Read moreWorse experience ever and we love this location but my husband and I usually go for lunch maybe that was our issue, we went for dinner (which shouldn’t matter). Skyler W was our server and was the absolute worst! She didn’t part her lips; no greeting, didn’t follow up and ask if we needed anything… nothing. Dropped food and walked off. The food is “usually “ always good. Smoked wings and brisket are our go to. Ordered smoke wings (they came out hot) a jumbo brisket sandwich and a side salad. (Trying to eat light after Thanksgiving ) We ate the wings then Skyler brought our salad (which had more cheese than lettuce) and no brisket. Which we thought was unusual. After 10 mins, I noticed her watching the game (FL vs FSU) with her arms folded… just chilling. Continued checking on other guests and finally I got her attention and asked about the brisket sandwich. She replied, it should be coming up. We were very shocked because we’ve NEVER waited almost 30 minutes after eating our appetizer; for our sandwich. We know the brisket is done. She finally brought the sandwich to us. Bun was COLD Meat was COLD! As if it had been sitting! We made her aware of the food; no apology she just picked it up and walked off! Returned with the sandwiches dropped them off again without an apology. Meat now lukewarm, bun still COLD! What a complete waste of time and money! Of All the places we could hv gone; we were very disappointed to say the least! I’m not going to play the “race card” but in this instance; it’s was definitely...
Read moreThis was our first time here. When we entered, it was dark inside, did not look like this place was open, 2 tables and a few people scattered at the bar. We thought this was odd considering it was almost 6:00 pm on a Thursday! They have happy hour every day from 4-7 pm. Their craft cocktails are $8. We both got one. They both were filled to the top with lots of ice and hardly any booze. However, they did taste good but left us with no buzz (sad). I can’t imagine paying full menu price for these drinks and not getting somewhat buzzed. We got the wings (8 for $13) which were smoked well and were delicious. We also got the famous onion rings ($10.50) which were delicious! We got a 2 meat sampler ($20) and were disappointed with the meats and the portions. The smoked turkey had no flavor and seemed to be something you’d get presliced from a deli. The brisket also had no flavor- none at all. We got mac and cheese which was good and the collard greens which was good. The toast that was served was tasteless and had no butter. When we were getting ready to leave a new table had come in and went to order. Their waitress offered them a half size onion ring or a full size (we did not get offered that option) and they also were offered toast or cornbread (which we did not get offered). All in all, the appetizers were good but everything else fell short. Could not say itd be worth coming back a second...
