Today I was looking for a nice park to take my grandsons to. I looked online and found Boone Park. When we arrived, I was able to park under a bunch of shade trees. There are a couple of different places to park and enter the park. We started with the swings first. There are 3 big swings and one infant swing. The swings weren't shaded, so the infant swing was a little warmer. I put his cart cover in the swing to keep it from burning him and to keep him from eating on the swing. Both the boys enjoyed the swings. Next, my older grandson played on the big swirling slide that is connected to the bridge and the other things that they can climb up and down. He did a bunch of climbing. My youngest grandson and I watched him play from the shade trees. He ran from slide to slide, climbed the blocks, and the jungle Jim, crawled through the big tube and played on the swings. There is not a lot of dirt at this park (which I was happy about). There are quite a few benches around the park. As well as picnic benches. There is a little covered area that has the picnic benches as well. The park was nice and clean. No litter at all during our visit. You can play tennis at this park. I am not sure if the water fountain works because we brought our own cold water. However, there is one by the tennis courts. It is a nice park, and we will be back on a cooler day. Thirty minutes was about all the heat that we could...
Read moreBoone Park was amazing but while there you have to watch your surroundings. I was watching 👀 my kids play and once I seen a mentally ill child, she kept pulling her pants down before getting on the swing. She and her little brother I'm assuming were with 2 adults a white female in her 40 something and a black female in her twenties. So I noticed the baby. And me being a parent, I walked up to the little girl first to ask her to pull up her pants and asked her if she was okay Then I proceeded to the two adults. When I asked if that was a child she said No at first. Then she started acting dumb saying Oh yeah, I was watching her. It was weird because but the kids were mentally challenged and the white woman in her 40s or more face was beat red and her eyes were gone so it looked like she was on drugs and she was hiding behind those kids.
I say all of that to say, Take your kids to the park allow them to be kids, keep them close by you, pay attention to your surroundings because there are enemies that lurk amongst kids who's praying that you aren't a concerned parent. I pray those kids are found, I couldn't call the police because I didn't know the whole story but...
Read moreThis park labeled areas of the park for different children age ranges which I thought was fantastic. That the little ones had a giant playset to themselves that they wouldn't be trampled by bigger kids was something I have wished for at many other parks. And they had some unique play equipment as well such as some sort of large boulder like items covered in rock-climbing grips or the item which appeared to be an improved seesaw with large comfy bench seats (fitting several kids or a parent and child on each side) and with large springs enabling it to be used whether someone sat on the other aide or not. So cool! There was also actual exercise equipment around the edges if the play area, allowing a parent to get a work out while their child plays or encouraging older kids to enjoy exercise. Very thoughtful. The park also does annual tree planting adoptions, which is neat. And has ample parking. I didnt even have time to check out the opposite side of the park so who knows what other wonders are to be found. I will...
