I’ll ignore my annoyance that they removed my favorite item the Outback rack in my review. Recently moved from Virginia to Florida and my wife was craving steak and we joined. Some nymew friends Saturday. Being that I ordered ribs the last time we went out with out friends I went outside the box and ordered asian spring chicken and sirloin. Requested medium rare steak steak was beyond dry as was my chicken. Steak size was so small they should have been embarrassed by even serving it. Main loser was my dog because it was just less for her to enjoy lol. Honestly the worst meal I have ever eaten at outback despite not being a fan for a long time. My loaded mashed potatoes were very good as was my salad but that’s where anything positive must end. Even the very reliable blooming onion was overly greasy . My wife ordered a steak salad with cooked requests as rare steak was closer to well done than even my overcooked steak. Saving grace was our server who was very sweet for removing my Bloody Mary from our bill because she knew that the bartender dropped the ball figuring out how to make such a simple drink that mine wasn’t served until well into our meal although the rest of our party also ordered an adult beverage which was served promptly. Btw it took 3 requests for napkins and silverware before anyone could attend to taste our appetizers?? Bb. Btw no respectable restaurant should actually even carry a steak that was actually 2x: 3 inches. It actually looked pathetic on the plate. New resident of Jacksonville but outback in San Jose is officially off our list.. just to be fair I usually just avoid posting negative reviews. Heck I’ve posted positive reviews about casinos where I’ve lost thousands dollars. I was just very disappointed by the quantity of Outback in San Jose Blvd Jacksonville that I huy couldn’t keep myself from posting. Btw… my original plan was to order a bone in ribeye which I saw online but it didn’t appear on the in house menu. Not wanting to look a jerk in front of our new neighbors I didn’t complain after dinner despite noticing our friends didn’t finish their meals either I happily paid the bill and tipped my server the expected amount since our issues were not her fault except for maybe lack of silverware for 20 minutes after being seated. I’ll blame that on the problem all business is having as far as enough staff but overall this Outback was without doubt the worst meal I’ve ever had at any of their locations that I’ve eaten at in numerous states from...

This is a follow up on my third visit at Outback in a month. On my last visit I noted that the blooming onion was really small compared to my previous experiences accumulated over time. In my previous review, I expressed a wish that the small blooming onion was just an anomaly. Today, I was again disappointed with a small blooming onion. When the waiter delivered the onion to our table, he had two of them in hand, and both were much smaller than usual. I have attached a photo of the blooming onion so that you can see and judge for yourself. It appears as though there is some "shrinkflation" going on here with smaller portion sizes at the same price. In addition to the small blooming onion, I had my usual loaded baked potato. In my last three visits, I have noticed that there was less sour cream, chives, cheese, bacon, and butter on my loaded baked potato. In all cases, I was left with a dry baked potato while only halfway through eating it. Because I initially chalked this off as just a miss, I chose not previously report. It now seems to be the new norm and perhaps just another example of "shrinkflation" at play. I do and have liked Outback very much over the years. Their food quality and quantity have been better. This restaurant could have been a little cleaner and tidy. It will be a while before I go back. I do believe these opportunity areas can be effectively addressed. Best wishes Outback.
Update #1 after return trip; Came back again and had some hiccups on experience. Lowering rating by one star on food and overall for the following reasons. 1. The blooming onion was really small at half the normal size. 2. The steak was a little dry, though the flavor was still good. 3. Steak was served on a smaller salad plate. 4. Not only was the blooming onion really small, it was overdone and had a bitter taste. Couldn't finish due to poor taste. Guess this was just a bad night. Will still come back and give this place another shot. It definitely has potential as long as they don't downsize portion sizes while keeping prices the same. Hoping the small blooming onion was an anomaly.

Read moreI would give it 4 stars based on customer but less for cleanliness and food execution and presentation. This is our first visit to this location. We had to send back the blooming onion as it was burned and the actual onion did not even look like what the standards of outback should be. It was delivered to our table by the food runner (or another server who set it on the table and flew away before we even had a chance to ask for plates. We waved to the manager who was close by and as soon as I pointed to the blooming onion he looked like even himself was not happy with it. He apologized and took the plate away and said he would Work on it.he delivered the next one himself. It was a bit better but not the usual outback blooming onion. I ordered the 6 oz sirloin with loaded potato and seasonal veggies and my fiancé ordered the 8 oz sirloin with grilled shrimp and friend fires and veggies. The carrots were over cooked, his shrimp was dry (considering an up charge of $5 for that I would say it was overpriced for sure) My steak was burnt on one side and I was too embarrassed to even say anything about it. This is not our first time at outback, we understand food prices went up Considerably on everything but this was for sure the most uncomfortable visit we ever had not only because of the food execution but cleanliness as well. The table next to us was never cleaned properly before it was set up with new rolled up silvers and the ledge next to my head at the booth had a layer of dust!!! U can also see food crumbs on the booth seat across from us with the rolled silverware on the table ready to be sat again!!!! Now a days with Covid and the wages being paid to the staff, it sure is not acceptable to have such low standards of cleanliness! I am disappointed and will not be coming back to this location. May be others but for sure...
