Let's get into this review. First let me say this I admire the Cheff's dedication to perfecting the craft of wood firing pizza pies. I don't however appreciate the customer service. I have been following this business for a year and I can honestly say that they are now at the point where they might need to consider hiring an answering phone service as the business might be to busy for them to care for customers over the phone and in person at the same time.
10/10 for the food 1/10 for customer service and the 1 is for effort. I get that it is hard running a small business especially if the business is growing faster than projecting but that growth can easily decline with poor customer service. i.e I called to place an order over the phone unaware that they would need my card information over the phone to place the order.( I didn't have my card nor was I in private space to give that personal information) so I asked if it could be ready for pick up today at 5pm the order was taken however it gave me the vibes of only taking it not with the intensions of actually having it ready at the time I needed it ready for today, like taking it but not actually following through. I didn't want to wait for my pizzas I just wanted to walk in pay for my order and walk out. There was not another option offered such as ordering online? Anyway what rubbed me the wrong way was the comment " is this a prank call" from the him over the phone. I'm from the Bronx of New York City living in Jax for awhile and I have and never will "play" about my food. And I appreciate a good pizza but what I wont and never will do is play about my time or my money. I can go on but I will stop here and say this. I called to get a proper resolution before leaving this post I asked for a phone call return because I care about this business and I wanted to understand where the miscommunication was coming from. But I got no call back and well what I have to say. I feel needs to be said, you have no idea what people are going through and when someone decides to patronize your business the least you can do is treat them with a little bit of respect maybe not the same respect you would show your mom but definitely a little bit more than you might show a begger although they deserve respect too definitely more than i received yesterday and I was not begging for food, I pay for mines. Now I tried to tell you this over the phone but I am going to get into it here because even if you (the owner) does not read my review someone will and maybe suggest to you the same thing.
Your rude, its not blunt it just pure rudeness. Your pies are good but if your customer service can't match what your selling then your business just becomes okay nothing awesome, or great about it and if you keep that rudeness up then 31495 just maybe another pizza place that was in Jacksonville and if you treat your cashiers like you treat some of your customers then you going to always have a new cashier always "learning the register". You wont have much employee loyalty nor retention. Maybe you need to only wood fire the pies and leave the customer service to someone else because the pressure of the business and doing both ends is making you look a little cheap and ran down. No matter what you charge for your dough.
P.S you don't have to respond because reading your responses to other reviews that give you a " not so great" experience remark is also rude and dismissive. versus kind and caring. You could do better but I guess you like being stuck at mediocre or "just okay".
Sincerely,...
Read moreThis was our first time here last Saturday 4/13/24, as I was told by a friend this was a must try pizza place. We actually arrived about an hour before they were open for business, and they were not making pizzas at that time. However, as we walked in, we were greeted with the friendliest hello and immediately we felt respected, and like a valued customer!! Evan the owner chatted with us and was very informative about the history of his business and his passion for what he does! Being from Naples, Italy pizza is a very passionate meal for us. Evan actually said the most respectful thing I have ever heard a pizza chef say about his pizza. He said due to not wanting to disrespect Naples he did not want to call his pizza Neapolitan. But said it is with those type qualities and his NY background that he puts into his version of pizza. They allowed us to place an order and come back and in about an hour and they would have it ready for us. When we returned, they waited until they saw of coming in to start making our pizza to ensure it was fresh and hot and it only took about 4 minutes from start to finish. It was the most AMAZING pizza and hands down the best I have had in many years!! The dough is perfectly made and cooked with an amazing woodfired taste. You can really feel the passion that Evan and his staff puts into his pizzas and how much he cares about his customers! We are absolutely coming back and going to bring the entire rest of the Italian family to also have this amazing pizza. I warned Evan that with the entire family it will be loud, and we will need to sit outback lol.
If you have not tried Pie95 Pizza yet you are no doubt missing out!! get there as soon as you can, and you will be...

Pizza was actually pretty good and the pizzas are perfect individual sizes. For me, I wish the pepperoni had more flavor, but my wife loved her pizza bianca and began fussing about how much better it was with a gentle squeeze of lemon. The kids really enjoyed the appetizer garlic bread and their cheese pizza. Inherent with wood fire pizza, there was a small bit of burnt on the bottom off the pizzas and one of my kids wasn't into the taste it gave the pizza, just keep that in mind if you have sensory kids.
The portions are indeed small. My 3 kids inhaled the garlic bread, my wife and I got a small bite each to try it. It's really good but you get a piece about half the size of the plate it's served on and marinara sauce on the other half. It's the perfect size for two adults to share.
They offer canned drinks, beer, and wine. No fountain drinks. Not a deal breaker but at $2 a can you don't get much. Water is free, ice cold, and available without bothering staff which is nice.
Overall my family enjoyed it, the atmosphere was fun with the subtle ninja turtles theme and local artistry on the walls. There isn't a lot of seating so be aware of that if you have a large group. Overall I'd love to come back as a couple, but probably not...
