This is Chief Apostle Hughes reviewing Smith's Kitchen, and just after my third visit today, they are definitely legit. And not to mention he was on the local news a few weeks ago with his signature dishes, location, and back story of how Smith's Kitchen came into fruition.
I had to invite my sister-in-the-Kingdom after describing my meal and she was impressed as well, so much, that she told her neice and she placed two orders and guaranteed to come back again. Now that's impressive!
Ok, let's work.
This young man and associate is putting out food that has Jacksonville and North Little Rock, AR driving through for drive-in drive bys.
My initial order, after following him on Instagram, was the catfish dinner. I had to sample the loaded fries, and I must say, as a foodie; there are no fries as crunchy, layered and loaded with real bacon and cheddar cheese sauce. You will NOT find any restaurant with these southern offerings for the price.
Oh, did I mention that he didn't skimp on anything, especially the bacon? Where the fries weren't covered in cheese and bacon, there was a magnanimous crunch factor.
Now, to what you all have been waiting for...the catfish. I'm not one that eat much fish and wings, but I will review the wings soon, since what I've eaten so far was a success.
Once my order came through the window with great hospitality, I had to get at it while it was hot, and hot it was! This catfish was seasoned throughout, hot, and just as crunchy as the fries! This made it fun for me to consume because it wasn't fishy and the tail of the fish fila tastes like a catfish rind!
Just a suggestion Smith's Kitchen? If you venture into catfish nuggets with this type of crunchiness? You may have a hit. Your portions have to hit different though. No condiments were offered, (hotsauce, tartar sauce, or mustard), but none was needed with this level of frying.
I'm also anticipating his mac n cheese and cheese, candied yams and double cheeseburgers. And the southern gent in me loved the red kool-aid libation. Yes, I indeed got my sip on!
You must follow Smith's Kitchen on Instagram and Facebook in order to view the menu and locations because Smith's Kitchen does SELL OUT!
I'm impressed with what he's offering so far and I know he has more culinary surprises coming soon. He has started a breakfast menu and has asked for ideas from his patrons.
Surrounding fast food restaurants in the areas, you're not ready for this smoke.
Until next review, it's Kingdom or...

Read moreThe owner is a pretty cool guy, but what I wanna talk about is the food and service... The owner was friendly and polite, even though it has to be smoking hot in the trailer. Now, to the food..... Im calling it, the absolute best fried catfish I've had in probably over 20yrs. Can't praise the food enough. I normally use tarter sauce on my fish, but tore that food up without anything on it. Going back for...
