Spanky's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Jacksonville

My 5 stars is primarily for prior-to-10 pm hours, especially on weekends. Following 10 pm, I give 3 stars.

I'm a huge Packers fan, and found Spanky's by happy accident about 10 years ago - I love it; it's the only bar I visit. The drink prices are good (Coors Light is only $2!) and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. A huge bonus is Angela (the greatest bartender ever) has remained ever since I began going. It's the most perfect place to catch Green Bay games.

My 3 stars for after 10 pm is due to the fact that Spanky's has undergone major crowd changes in the past several years. I'm 51 now, and when I began going, Spanky's was (with the exception of younger USMC patrons) primarily patronized by a 30-35+ crowd - a warm, friendly crowd that could drink & get rowdy while maintaining a basic respect for others. It was a terrific, relaxed, friendly place to spend a whole evening.

Several years, however, the after 10 pm crowd devolved, bringing in what I can only describe as a "gangster" element -- a rude, vulgar, loud, and disrespectful younger crowd. As a result, I go infrequently and always leave early. I truly hope one day my favorite bar will return to...

This is a nice local hangout we were lucky to find. I came to Jacksonville to visit my granddaughter and happened upon this place. Very diverse and friendly my granddaughter just 21 enjoyed it and I am 67 and had a blast. A big shout out to Cheyenne & Rachel tending the bar and Laura tending to the music. Everyone in the place seemed to be having a blast we were there from about 7 PM till midnight. Would definitely go back Friday night karaoke and wish I was here Wednesday wings 1/2 price and they are as good or better then all the reviews. We ordered extra crispy they came out perfect still juicy in the middle and yummy. We got mild with a side of hot and the hot was not extreme and taste good. Enjoy! Went Saturday night. Very diverse crowd of people! DJ played a variety of music, it was really nice! The bartender was kept very busy! I'm not a beer drinker, so I wanted a Smirnoff Green Apple but they only had original and she said "I can make it green apple" & WOW! It was DELICIOUS! I'm going to have to stop buying the ready made green apple & mix it like she did! My friend had a bottle of Bud Light, it was $2! My drink was $4. Place is small, & "worn" but it was nice. They do have a place to sit outside. They have pool tables as well. Oh, and if you're a Green Bay Packers fan - this place is for you! For a little "hole in the wall" place, it was a nice visit.
