Read moreThe best Jerk Chicken I’ve ever had and worth the wait! My go to Caribbean restaurant.
I have been coming here now for about two years. I see some reviews complaining about the wait and it is true that sometimes it can be very lengthy. But for me it’s worth it. Some people say they call in and when they get there they see people come and go long before they get there food. I always call ahead and still experience this from time to time. The reason this is, is because everything is made fresh to order and some dishes take longer than others. This is not a fine dinning place. It focuses on the food and not much more which is fine with me because that’s what matters. If you need your food fast go to Wendy’s. The owner is a real nice guy and tries to appease everyone but we all know you can’t do that. The staff have always been kind and respectful to me and those I’ve seen around me even when some of them are complaining and literally yelling and cursing at them because of the wait and people coming and leaving before them. But the staff always stays nice and respectful. I’m sure if the tables were turned on the ones that are so disrespectful they wouldn’t act as nice as the staff continues to do.
Anyway the point is that if you want incredible Caribbean food that might take a little while to cook even if you call in. GO TO THIS PLACE!!! If you want something to eat fast maybe save it for another day when you have more time. My go to dish is the jumbo jerk chicken with rice and beans and cabbage. ABSOLUTELY...
Read moreWe went in the early evening on Saturday, arriving around 5pm. There were just a couple of people ahead of us. By 6pm, the ordering area was full, and the phones were ringing nonstop. Upon walking in, it was unclear which side to go to for dining in. We asked the staff, and they told us to order and pay at the register, then sit and wait for our number to be called. We ordered the oxtail dinner with rice & peas, cabbage, plantain, and extra gravy; the jerk chicken dinner with rice & peas, corn, and extra gravy; coconut water; and a mango & strawberry smoothie. Then, we went to a table. The dining area is very clean and colorful, with beautiful art/photos. There's even a selfie wall in the back. The atmosphere is great for a family meal or friends gathering. It would be good for date night for a couple just going out to eat. It's not a very romantic setting, if that's the vibe you're going for. It didn't take long for our order, and it was fresh. The food was delicious! Oxtail was tender and seasoned well. So was the jerk chicken. Having the extra gravy was great to pour over the rice. I'd recommend it, and...
