Place has possibilities, however, disappointing. You must go to the bar to place your order, then you're expected to carry it back to your table. I ordered the taco salad, but nothing about it was mexican. It was a very basic salad, missing half the ingredients listed on the menu with spring salad mix! Most don't go to a Mexican style restaurant to get a spring salad in a taco shell. The trio appetizer was small, and you don't just get chips and salsa. Those must be bought. However, they do come with most meals. Hubby ordered the burrito, so so again. Friends ordered nachos, which were small and a quesadilla, unimpressed. Had an extremely drunk, loud woman at the bar that should have been asked to leave. She was dancing the poles, sticking her butt to the window, and danced on the bar and attempted to get on the bar again. I know she ran off several diners that were sitting close to her. However, she was allowed to stay and harass other patrons. Again, it was very disappointing.

The cool kids call this place “Tepey’s” for short. It’s the best Mexican food in the CITY. You can take debate a wall. I recommend barbacoa, steak or ground beef. Their kitchen is a food truck, be patient, busy nights will take a little bit. It’s also not table service. You order at the counter, take your number and go sit down, no need to scream across the restaurant to get your order placed. They have 20 rotating beers on tap, alcoholic beverages, sometimes beverage specials based on holidays and sometimes food specials of the week that mimic fast food restaurant items i.e. Taco Bell, Wendy’s, McD’s etc. They also partner with local non profits in the community. They really check ALL the boxes. If Jonaye is bartending, kick your feet up and relax because you’ll be in great hands! She has a large boyfriend though (I’ve asked. Shooters shoot! 😂). This place is on the rise you won’t be disappointed. OM NOM NOM😁 if you see Luis (the owner), tell him I sent you.

Came here the other night for marvel trivia. Decided to see what food they had. I was able to get two corn tacos since I can't have gluten. Just had them put lettuce on it which was a quarter upcharge. Also had cilantro and beef. Chips were good and had seasoning too. It has a bar, but I didn't drink while there. I noticed that they cook in an outside food truck type deal when I stepped outside for a moment. The food runner brought it about 10 minutes after I ordered. It was really good. Definitely filling. The Short box Podcast put the trivia on. There wasn't a ton of people, but honestly, there didn't need to be. The crowd was really cool. The questions were all about the MCU. The restroom was clean also when I used it. There's a few video games too, but I was there for trivia so I didn't look. It's only 10 minutes away in San Marco. There is parking behind the venue also. It's a slow, quiet area out there too. Would definitely go back.

A great and odd experience. I had viewed a review on the book of the face maybe a week ago of the eatery. I wasn't planning on taking my date there. I was trying to avoid the San Marco train and got off at the Phillips exit going south. I mentioned it to my date that I saw a good review. She quickly said she would rather go somewhere unique instead of our quick lunch spot. I did a turn and we went in. The funny thing was that the place was packed but it was completely silent. I felt like it was one of those needle of the record moments. So a book club meets there the third Saturday of the month and they have some great specials. Anyway we sat at the bar and were waited on very quickly. I had an itch please and she had a mule to drink. Both great. We ordered and she got the Mexican pizza and I got the double decker taco. Both were beyond excellent. They bring a couple of different sauces. The thicker one was the one we both enjoyed the most but you have to like the spice. The atmosphere was great and once the book club put the books down the place came to life. They have pinball, foosball and old school videos games. We plan to go back soon for a trivia night. I highly reccomend this...

We got to the restaurant around 1245 and ordered. There were about 3 people ahead of us. We were sitting down enjoying family time and watching the game when we realized it had been awhile and we still didn't have our food. People who came in 15 minutes after us were eating. I asked the guy at the counter if he could check on our food. It had been close to 40 minutes at that point. He came back from the kitchen and asked me if we had received our questions (which we did). He said there was apparently a mix-up in the kitchen and we would have our food quickly. We then watched 3 other orders come out while we waited longer. By the time our food arrived, we had waited over 45 minutes. The only "apology" we got was someone from the kitchen complaining about having wisdom teeth removed. The food itself was decent. Queso was watery. My wife's nachos were cold, and and when they are breakfast nachos with scrambled eggs, that's gross. I can safely say I don't see a return trip after wasting...
