Rincon Colombiano — Restaurant in Jamestown

Discovered this lovely hidden gem of a restaurant during the Lucy Desi comedy fest week. It advertised breakfast and lunch Colombian food that I have never tried before. It is a small restaurant with two tables and you are warmly greeted when you enter. Our first breakfast was Arepas Carnitas and not only everything is made from scratch but I have never tasted such delicious Carnitas before and I have eaten Carnitas many times. The arepas is such a wonderful corn style bread, and you leave satisfactorily stuffed for a busy day! The guava Buenelos Rellanos were like small jelly donut holes- delicious for a sweet start. My daughter went to Colombia several years ago. Within a week of hearing about Rinco Colombiano, we made time to try it out for dinner. My family agreed that the food was delicious and authentic. We loved the fried potatoe ball and anything else with their corn patty! The Colombian expresso was a tasty treat to end the meal. My one regret: they had no pineapple cake to go with that expresso. The food was amazing different and unique for the area. The papa rellena was fulfilling with peas rice meat and carrots. The Bandeja paisa is great and the chicharron is to die for.
