Barkley's Burgers Brews & Dawgs — Restaurant in Janesville

I NEVER write negative reviews but am disgusted right now.

One of the absolute worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. Drove 40 minutes to come to this restaurant that is advertised as dog friendly to take my dog who has TERMINAL CANCER out to dinner as it’s one of her “bucket list” items. She’s a 10 year old English Bulldog, who goes everywhere in her stroller. When we arrived I noticed a hand-written sign on the patio stating the dog area was closed due to the heat- it was 8:15pm and only about 75 degrees and completely shaded; so I went in to ask thinking surely they’d tell me I’d be fine to take her on the patio- mind you, she’s 10 years old, deaf and gets carted everywhere in a stroller so no different than me taking my child to a restaurant aside from the fact that she wouldn’t scream, cry, or throw anything like a child would… she would not have been a bother to ANYone, and was told that they “weren’t doing dogs today because of the heat.” I just want to reiterate that I’ve been an English Bully owner for almost a decade- I know when it is and when it isn’t safe for her to be outside and always air on the side of caution; at this time of night she would have been perfectly safe outside. I am completely disgusted at the lack of empathy, common sense, courtesy and customer service I was met with. Needless to say, we’re driving the 40 minutes home, Farley didn’t get to go out to eat and enjoy one of her last days with us when she is still able to be out and about. I almost never post negative reviews, but I am so appalled at what I just experienced that I felt compelled to do so. I urge you not to give your business to this 0/10...

Just moved in the neighborhood noticed a neon sign for daily specials. Thought I’d stop in tonight for a. Gyros special stopped in and ordered it got home not what I expected. The fries was great but the Gyros meat was chopped in small pieces quarterly. It had more purple onions and tomatoes on it than anything else that made it cold My guess 20 little pieces of Gyros meat and was cold don’t get me wrong. I did order it in person around 8:30pm but it basically look like it was thrown together. and only reason I’m giving this review is because if it happened to me, does it happen to other people it be nice for feedback? Maybe it was just my bad experience but speaking from a person that worked in the industry. I think it should’ve been handled better than that or prepared. but as far as it goes with the atmosphere, it has outdoor seating seasonal customer service was great. It has exactly what I’m looking for as a neighborhood restaurant/bar. They have game nights which I liked. Maybe dining inside for food might be better as far as it goes with takeout. I’m gonna second-guess on that. I explained to the staff this is my first time coming into their establishment. and I tip the cashier $3.00 dollars. because of the great customer service. I did talk to the manager Al the next day and he understood the situation and made it right. He reimburse me for take out and gave me a $15 gift card for my next purchase. I just like to...

I looked forward to visiting Barkley's Burgers, Brews & Dawgs since my move to WI 6 months ago. Very disappointed! Restaurant barely half full, yet it took waitress forever to take order after we seated ourselves. Strawberry Margarita special was decent, which was brought quickly, but a 50 minute wait for an appetizer and two burgers without one check in by server. Waitress was gruff and seemed annoyed the rare moments we did see her. Would have been okay if food was good, but it was not. The fried onions I had so looked forward to tasted AWFUL. Looked fine, but tasted burned, I suspect from bad oil. Burger of the month stated prime rib addition, which was a tiny morsel near impossible to find. Great Dane burger was near flavorless and beyond well done. Fries were cold. It is hard to make a burger I don't like, but Barkley's did. Prices were high, food was sub par, wait was totally unacceptable and atmosphere was bright and uncomfortable on wooden bench booths. I will...
