I put a 4 for atmosphere only bc when I went there was only two other people eating and there was no music or tv. However the decor was nice and they had reading material including some comic books! I recently returned to the area and discovered what used to be a taco joint is now Al Shishkebab. I read the reviews, good and bad. If you take just a moment and talk to the chef and look around you will realize there is heart and soul poured into this establishment. I mentioned earlier about music and tv, however I do like seeing reading material as an option. Let’s face it we all are spoiled with technology! I think the reading material brings a home like feeling! Back to the heart and soul. The moment you receive your dish and take a few bites you will feel the passion that is put into the dish. In a nut shell you can tell this is a new establishment so don’t mistake it for a place that is trying to make a quick Buck. The food is great and the staff genuinely cares about your experience. I have no problem paying a higher price for great food! I WILL be visiting this wonderful restaurant time after time! To the owners I wish you prosperity and longevity with your endeavors, you deserve it and never lose that spark that you have!

For these reasons I dislike leaving a negative review as the staff here were very polite and friendly. The place had a reasonably clean seating area and free wifi as well. However - and the most important - the beef shishkebab sandwich and red-lentil soup I had here for $15:81 was the worst I've eaten anywhere for years. I'm still disappointed at the terrible quality even a few hours later. The sandwich was completely tasteless with a texture similar to cardboard and the soup had no flavour whatsoever and was extremely thick and dry. I was stunned at the poor quality considering the positive reviews here. They did ask me on a few occasions if everything was ok, but I couldn't be bothered complaining as it was just so bad.

Al Shishkebab offers a genuine dive into Mediterranean flavors with its dishes. I tried their Mixed Platter and it was amazing. The richness and creaminess of the hummus, paired beautifully with the assortment of meats, ensuring every bite was a symphony of tastes. The chef, who was from Pakistan, brought a delicious touch to the traditional dishes. His evident pride and passion for the culinary arts shone through in the dishes, guaranteeing not just a meal, but an experience of top-notch quality. Al Shishkebab is a must-visit for those wanting to experience authentic Mediterranean flavors. Whether you’re a carnivore or prefer plant-based meals, this restaurant has something delicious waiting for you.

Restaurant Review: Exquisite Delights at Al Shishkebab

If you find yourself craving a taste of the Middle East, look no further than the charming little gem that recently opened its doors in our town. This culinary haven, aptly named "Al Shishkebab," has quickly earned a special place in my heart and taste buds. From the moment you step inside, you'll be embraced by an ambiance of warmth and hospitality that can only be described as heartwarming.

Upon entering Al Shishkebab, I was greeted with the sincerest smile from the store manager himself. The warmth in their eyes and the genuine enthusiasm they exuded instantly made me feel like an old friend. As they guided me to my table, they shared some heartwarming stories about their passion for Middle Eastern cuisine and their journey to bring their family's cherished recipes to our community.

Once seated, the store manager took the time to personally recommend dishes from the menu. You could see the pride and love they have for their cooking as they passionately described each dish's history and the traditional ingredients used to create them. Their attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the authentic flavors truly set Al Shishkebab apart from other Middle Eastern restaurants I've visited.

The food itself was a delightful symphony of flavors and textures. The hummus was velvety smooth, and the falafels were crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside. The kebabs were perfectly seasoned, and the aromatic rice served alongside them was a delightful accompaniment. Each bite transported me to the streets of a bustling Middle Eastern market, filled with exotic spices and tantalizing aromas.

But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the personal touch the store manager brought to every interaction. They made sure to check on each table, ensuring that their guests were enjoying their meals to the fullest. Their kindness and genuine interest in their patrons created an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation that's rare to find in today's fast-paced world.

If I were to suggest one improvement, it would be to get a bigger sign for Al Shishkebab. The current one does not do justice to the treasure trove of flavors that lie behind its doors. With a more noticeable sign, more locals would be drawn to experience the exceptional culinary journey that the store manager has to offer.

In conclusion, Al Shishkebab is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience that nourishes both the body and soul. The store manager's warm and friendly nature, coupled with their heartfelt cooking, will leave you with a lasting impression. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking an authentic Middle Eastern culinary adventure. Prepare to be transported to a world of flavorful delights, right in the heart...

Mediterranean Delight in Port Richey

If you’re in Port Richey and craving a culinary escape, look no further than this hidden gem specializing in Mediterranean cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the warm ambiance and inviting aromas set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

Butter Chicken Bliss

Let’s talk about the star of the show: the butter chicken. This dish is a masterpiece of flavor! Each tender piece of chicken is bathed in a rich, creamy sauce that strikes the perfect balance between savory and slightly sweet. The spices are thoughtfully blended, creating a symphony of taste that lingers long after the last bite. The generous portion size means you’ll leave satisfied, and trust me, you won’t want to share!

Hummus Heaven

Next up is the hummus, which is nothing short of heavenly. It’s incredibly smooth and buttery, practically melting in your mouth with each spoonful. The flavor is vibrant, making it the ideal accompaniment to warm pita bread or fresh veggies. You’ll find it hard to stop at just one serving!

Unbeatable Prices

What truly sets this place apart is the pricing. The value you receive for the quality of food is astounding. It’s rare to find such delicious, authentic Mediterranean dishes at these prices, making it an ideal spot for both special occasions and casual outings.

Final Thoughts

In summary, the Mediterranean restaurant in Port Richey is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good food. With its flavorful butter chicken, melt-in-your-mouth hummus, and unbelievably reasonable prices, you’ll be planning your next visit before you even finish your meal. Don’t miss out on this...

TLDR: We ordered take-out. Everything was fresh, very flavorful, and nothing but amazing. Even the sides that come with the platters. The owner/chef kept thanking me for choosing his place to eat and cared if we liked the food he made. The quality of the food certainly showed that care. Please try it! I want to keep going to this place for a long time!

Al Shishkebob just opened in the Regency Plaza strip-mall. We have been wanting to try it since we first saw that it was opening soon. Let me tell you, we are SO glad we did! So many places that open near us turn out to be disappointing. I'm not a foodie or by any means an expert. I just love really good food. That's exactly what you get from Al Shishkebob!

We ordered the Tikka Masala, the Chicken Shawarma Grilled Wrap, the 3 Item Platter (Falafel, Beef Shawarma, Chicken Kebob), and the Eggplant Dip (Baba Ganoush) for take-out. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the Baba, which comes with bread pieces, was awesome! The sides that come with the platters (Hummus, Yellow Rice (Basmati), House Salad (Tomatoes, Onions, Cucumber, in a vinegary sauce), and the Yogurt Sauce) were just as fresh and flavorful as everything else. Nothing we had disappointed.

Just for comparison, our favorite Indian place is Curry Leaves in Tampa and is worth the drive from Port Richey. If you have been there, then you can appreciate that I believe the food quality of this place is on par with them. I would drive to Tampa to eat at Al Shishkebob. I'm just really glad I...
