Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Jasper

We ordered two meals the boy ended up doubling our meals making us pay for four meals and drinks also. we were standing there waiting. a worker come up to the front from the back to help the new guy that was helping us he had on nothing but a white undershirt most people call them wife beaters. The area we were standing at was so slippery I almost fell. The whole dining room floor was slippery with grease there were French fries and other food on the floor underneath of everything there was dust and food on the table all of them almost were dirty. It was not bust at 2 other ppl in dinning room and a few drive up windows. there was wallpaper healing off of the walls in several places had black spots under it may have been mold didn't get that close to it. Our order was wrong after they charged us too much ended up telling them don't worry about it just give me boxes I will take it home. It was an all-around horrible experience and never have I ever had that before at that Long John Silver's but it has been years since I have been there. It has been years since my wife and I have last seen or stopped at a Long John Silvers, until we noticed this location on Highway 231 in front of the Wall Mart Supercenter in Jasper after visiting my wife's sister in a nursing home in Jasper.

We were not hungry but had to stop out of nostalgia. Back when we were dating for years ago we would stop at the old LJS on the other side of the road that had been a Japanese steak house for many years. It was always a splurge to stop, so we hanged many fond memories from those days back in the early eighties.

The restaurant is new and very urban looking. It is also very clean and organized with lots a seating and a clean comfortable dining room.

The staff were amazing, meeting us at the counter, welcoming us and providing the time and informing we needed to make our selections. The menu had a consistent feel so we went with the same meal we used to order thirty five years ago.

The food was brought to our table quickly with both orders complete....

Went thru Drive thru … Ordered a #5 2 pc fish w/2 sides got French fries but did not get coleslaw. Also ordered #1 on grilled menu ~ 2 salmon tacos … got only one salmon taco. Called store upon arrival home to complain & was told to drive back to get second taco … nope!! Excuses, excuses … “we were training a new person, blah, blah, blah!!” Called back a second time when I realized that coleslaw was missing from daughters meal. Manager apologized & stated that “there is no # 1 on grilled menu” & I told her to go look at their drive thru menu board!! She told me that I was only charged for one taco … but I had specifically ordered #1 on grilled menu ~ the chipotle salmon tacos!
