One counter attendant noticeably rolled eyes at me but caught it part way through when in my exhaustion I fumbled my card and almost dropped it. I'd ordered online- two five-topping larges for pick up: one with pepperoni, sausage, Canadian bacon, pineapple, extra cheese. One with beef, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and extra cheese. I shouldn't have ordered online because I was so tired - I messed up first of all. My "home store" is the one in French Lick / West Baden, since it's closer to my home and provides better service despite being part of a gas station. We ordered from the Jasper store prior to this order and at least had no memorable complaints, though they were light on toppings for that order. This time around, since it almost never changes, I forgot to double check the address of the location the order would go to. When I called to ask if they could at least give me extra time to get there, and put the pizza in an hour or so later, I was told it was already in. After I had clicked the Order button about ten seconds before. Why and how did they get it in so fast? Read on.
We measured a two and a half to three and a half inch wide crust margin (more in some areas, somewhat less in others) of both pizzas where they were apparently in such a rush that they didn't realize what it looked like - it was bare of toppings and sauce. One would think that "extra cheese" would have at least meant a few stray pieces of THAT in that margin, but nope. If I wanted breadsticks I would have bought breadsticks! On top of this, since the pizza had been sitting under a warmer for so long it was getting a bit tough around the outside edges. After all, it was almost an hour drive to get there, since I felt freaking obligated to go pick it up after talking to them on the phone, as though their possible food waste somehow trumps my fuel cost and growing irritation as a customer. I should have just told them I didn't want it that bad, but I was raised to deal with my mistakes.
I wish I could deal with it more permanently. I wish there was a way to BLACKLIST the Jasper location on the online ordering so I never have to even see it again. They have too many employees there that must still live with their parents, aren't getting paid enough to care about satisfying customers, or don't understand the meaning of competition (or all of the above). There are a lot of GREAT reasons why we usually go to Domino's when we are in Jasper - price, service, and generosity with the toppings. If there was one nearer to our home we wouldn't use Papa Johns at all. This place has officially lost our business. Not that it would matter to them if...
Read moreNormally we get awesome pizzas and delivery. On Saturday we received the worst service and don’t plan to come back.
I’m a huge fan of stuffed crust pizzas. I was stoked when PJ’s introduced theirs! We have ordered that crust a few times and it’s always been perfect! Hot, slight crisp to the crust, and gooey goodness in the center!
On Saturday we placed at order at 12:42. 35 mins later our app said the pizzas were in the car for delivery. 30 mins after that they arrived, soggy, luke warm, and the Knots we ordered were leaking oil and butter all over the place. To top that off, the dough on the Stuffed Crust was undercooked!!
We live less than a mile from the store!! It never should have taken that long to deliver, and our food shouldn’t have been in that steamy bag for so long. Needless to say we were severely shocked and disappointed. My wife prefers Domino’s but obliges my preference for PJ’s, the kids don’t care...looks like we’ll be doing Domino’s from now on. 😞
Oh...and I reached out to PJ’s...I got a canned “free one topping” response. No thanks. I don’t need another soggy,...
Read moreI honestly don't have a hands down favorite pizza company. I buy pizza from papa johns as well as many others. Just depends on the day and what I'm craving. What papa johns does right are several things. Of course #1 are sales deals which will always bring me in. #2 is the stuffed cheese crust pizza. The crust is pretty much all the way around stuffed and pulls soft. #3 I'm a big fan of the garlic dipping sauce . This building was clean with plenty of parking and wheel chair accessible if you need to roll in or use a walker. No inside seating but its a pick up place. I ordered online and the guesstimate from the app was bang on. Its a flavor from my child hood. We did try the cinnamon pull apart this time. I thought it was ok and hubby liked it. It had plenty of cinnamon layer inside and sugar topping on the top. I know people will think its crazy to have too much of something but I thought there was too much of the cinnamon layer inside and of course...
