I have to say, I have not been impressed with this Wendy's since they returned to town. The food doesn't taste as good to me as I remember from the "old" Wendy's, and they have some MAJOR problems when it comes to manners and FAST food! My last visit was a drive thru nightmare. It took a while, but when I finally got to the box where you order, I was told the sandwich I had chosen with my 4 for $4 was not one of the options you can select - even though it was clearly marked on the menu as being one of the options. When I questioned it, the guy on the other end just stopped responding. So I asked could he tell me what the options were since what I was clearly not reading the menu right; he let out a heavy sigh as if I was wasting his time, but still said nothing. I said "I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you, but you said what I ordered wasn't an option with this meal, so I'm not sure what I can order". He continued to say nothing. I finally just blurted out just give me whatever hamburger comes with it. At this time a female spoke up and asked me what I wanted to order. I went through the whole ordeal with her, but stuck with just give me a burger. I told her I thought I had upset the guy but I couldn't understand why - she didn't respond, just confirmed my order. I got to the first window, mentioned to that guy (apologetically) what happened as I ordered - still trying to make sense of the twilight zone I had just crossed into. He looked at me with a grin as if he already knew, but didn't respond about it; I asked if he was the guy who was initially taking my order, and he said no it was the guy at the next window. I finally (after 35 min) get to the second window where you get your food.....there was the young teenaged boy who was taking the orders. He didn't open the window, he didn't look in my direction, no acknowledgement whatsoever! A car in front of me had been told to pull up until their food was ready; I had to wait on a woman take their food out to them, then come back in, walk past the boy at my window, pick up my food and drink that was sitting AT THE WINDOW, and hand it to me. She was VERY polite and apologetic - a little bit older, maybe in her 30s. I was polite back to her, but I was so pissed at this boy who, after being so incredibly rude this whole time, couldn't even open the window and hand me my food that was sitting there - if for no other reason just to get rid of me. Another thing that makes me so angry about this experience is I had been on here and read many bad experiences people have had with this Wendy's and how rude the associates are, and I had been DEFENDING these young teenagers and their actions...."it's their first time working (many of them), they're young, give them a break/chance, etc.....feels like a slap...
Read moreWe pulled into Wendy's close to 10pm on a Friday, family of six. It was deserted, two employees were sitting into the patio area and scurried inside ahead of us as if the tardy bell was ringing at the local high school. The cashier was wiping tables in the restaurant, she saw us enter and hurried behind the counter to take our order. It was if the curtain was about to rise and the director just shouted, "Places everyone!"
We ordered and our food was promptly delivered, fresh and warm, but absent was a small order of fries. I returned to the counter and a very friendly manager supplied me with a medium order of fries to make up for my extra counter trip. I appreciated that, it was thoughtful.
The staff was composed of young workers and they were comfortable around the guests. While we were there an off duty employee arrived and requested a uniform shirt so she could go back into the kitchen, that's unusual to me. A few minutes later, the local Pizza Hut delivered a pizza to the store and it was taken back into the kitchen for the employees to eat. I can really tell that they all enjoy working here, I wonder how often they have Friday night pizza parties. Employee satisfaction must be really high.
While we ate our late night snack, I noticed that one of the hanging lights over the countertop against the window was not illuminated. This is something I notice in many places I visit. When Google asked for the review, I looked at the photos of this restaurant and see that the light is out in all the photos here too. I wonder if it will ever...
Read moreThese people know how to do chili!! But if it's cold out and you even THINK you MIGHT want some chili from Wendy's, you'd better just go ahead and plan on stopping! No dawdling around or it'll be gone while you're in the parking lot trying to figure out if you want any or not! Trust me on this. My husband and I have encountered this sad circumstance on a couple of occasions ourselves. It's cold and we decide we MIGHT want to stop and get chili at Wendy's. Problem is someone before us acted on their whim and we were too late! Yep, no exaggeration. Their chili is THAT good! Pair it up with a spicy chicken sandwich and you've got yourself a real meal there!! We've recently tried their Loaded Baconator Fries, too. Pretty good stuff. The establishment in Jasper, AL is not just for parents with small children either. You often see older couples in there, just having a bite to eat. Conversation is easy because it's not loud even though there's a t.v. on the wall as you come in the door. Their frosty's are great, too. Not too long ago, about a week or so ago when it was cold outside, my husband and I stopped in for the aforementioned chili and spicy chicken sandwich. And afterword?? Well, though it was cold outside, we were warm inside and not going anywhere soon so we ordered us a couple of frostys and sat there, just enjoying them and conversation. I just don't think you can go wrong visiting the Jasper...
