Cascabel Taco Joint — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

This is my husband's and I new go to place for tacos, entrees, desert and future catering hands down! A hidden gem honestly. We had ordered:

3 Quesadilla de birria -delicious and a flavorful balance with the dipping sauce

2 Tacos de al pastor -the meat was very tender and not over cooked just amazing

Carne Asada Tampiquena - rice was fluffy and frijoles fritos reminded me of my mom's, made perfectly. NOW the CARNE ASADA was a VERY generous size, cooked very tender and sooo goood! Comes with tortillas and a side salad with avocado slices.

Chocoflan wasssss the best way to have finished our night out after a great dinner. It is made in house and it was so delicious.

My husband and I shared all of this and we were not left hungry lol and so happy we came here for dinner, the food was GREAT. The mastermind behind the menu and the chef were very kind, humble and wonderful.

This is a long overdue review for me. Growing up on the west side of Chicago and having spent extended periods living in Tucson, San Diego, and Albuquerque, I have been fortunate to eat some amazing Mexican food in my day…

So, I do not take it lightly in saying… This man might make the best Tacos Al Pastor in the world! Just wow. A hit every time. The fresh guacamole is also great (I ask her to make it a bit spicy) and both salsas are also amazing.

It is always the same couple (I assume, apologies if I’m wrong!) working and they are so kind everytime. It is small inside but comfortable, and there is plenty of free parking on the nearby side streets, and you can usually pull up in front pretty easily for a quick to-go. A + customer service! This is the perfect place to grab a bite. It’s like they keep a grandma in the kitchen lol. I was here for a quick lunch date. We both ordered the Barria tacos, chips and Guac. The Guac was fresh fresh! Best I’ve ever had. There was so much flavor in the tacos. If you like bland food keep scrolling.
