Deleite’s Pizza and Mexican Food — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

Update: I've been back. This is my new favorite pizza spot in the city. I recommend ordering a full pizza WELL DONE (very important).

Original review: I'm flabbergasted. I was coming home from the burbs to Wicker and traffic was bad so I got off the expressway. Searched for a pizza slice and saw the pics on here and thought, "Boy, that looks a lot like some of my favorite pizza at Piece Pizzeria and Brewery. It looks and is cut a little bit like New Haven, CT pizza- pizza capital of the world." So I grabbed a cheese slice and some horchata and...I just can't believe this came out of what looks like just a taco joint with a window. It's unreal pizza that would do well anywhere in the city. I wish they were closer to me so I could fatten up on a slice or 2 of these a week. A satisfying crunch throughout the whole slice. It felt like a simpler, and maybe better slice than Piece. I don’t leave reviews but it would be an injustice if the pizza Bells don’t ring around Chicago! Yes they have a full coal oven so the crust is unmatched in this part of Chicago! The Mexican food is great the pizza is great! Match made in Foodie heaven! The style of pizza is NYC marries Chicago! Yes! Bang!!!! Can’t go wrong! Crispy, chewy, savory za-ness -- bellissima! My husband and I are repeat customers and grateful locals to have Deleite's right down the street. Their pizza is the BEST, byob is fun (nice little patio off the Milwaukee strip), and owner so nice... We struck up convo the other night and learned he's a veteran chef who had worked at Piece Pizzeria for a number of years. And I don't doubt it -- the za is seriously delicious.
