Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

I just had the worst experience where I had ordered a catered box Thursday evening, for pickup at 230 for a for happy hour event Friday late afternoon. walked in the restaurant around 3 thinking they would be done. When I walked in, I asked for pickup order for my name and what I ordered, they said they were working on it and that it should be done shortly. I’m thinking Alright whatever, that’s cool still plenty of time.

After waiting for 50 minutes I asked the cashier who said they were working on it how long before it's ready. At this point- an hour later - The cashier said oh, we haven't started it yet my bad, we’re busy. Straight lie, you forgot bro and just let me sit there for almost an hour without asking what I was waiting for. It is now 358PM , 1 1/2 hours since my pickup time and not only am I going to be late to the event, I may not even make it in time for the happy hour I got these for. So at 410 they’re done, however, they disregarded the note for qtr cuts and seemed agitated that I asked them to cut it as requested.

As I sat there visibly upset I calmly and candidly asked, “guys what’s the disconnect here? I ordered for a set time, got here late and when it was relatively slow, it wasn’t done when I arrived, you said you were working on it, you forget and make me wait another hour, what happened?” Giving an awkwardly ample amount of time to respond, none of the 4 workers said anything or offered any kind of menial assurance I was obviously looking for. Just lie to me and say it was a system error, the receipt got lost in the shuffle, something…Maybe I wouldn’t be writing this crap review if you didn’t make me feel completely ignored, even worse that I am somehow the jerk here. Don’t lie to me 3 times and think I’ll be happy go lucky. Again, it’s not just one sub I’m selfishly waiting on so I can go home and eat it, there’s like 10 people that are hungry, drunk, and have the expectation that I’m bringing some noms.

I left a review in November 2022 for the new Jersey Mike’s sub store at the 4300 block of W. Irving Park Rd. The sandwiches are great. I’ve been going in there quite often. But on April 2, 2023 Sunday I ordered my number two sandwich. I was witnessing the sandwich maker only putting one piece of meat and one of the small stubs, I noticed he did it again. When he went to make mine, I ordered a regular sub and he only put two pieces of meat on my sandwich. I was scratching my head and very curious. When I came home to eat the sandwich I couldn’t believe it was paper thin with one piece of meat on each end of the sandwich. I waited till Monday and contacted the store manager. Carla answered the phone and I told her the problem With the sandwich. I told her I still have my receipt. She told me that is not right. I’m just putting the one piece of meat on the sandwich. She invited me back in which I showed up Tuesday at 1:30 and she gave me a free sandwich, and I noticed the amount of meat that they normally put on the sandwich was fantastic. I give a lot of credit to the store manager Carla to work this problem out. I did tell her, if you continue to make sandwiches that thin Jersey, Mike’s will go out of business. Words can’t explain how much of a letdown this location is, especially a first time experience for my mother, I guaranteed her after eating Jersey Mike’s she’d crave it more than Subway but oh man I couldn’t be more wrong and embarrassed for saying that. To start off, I placed my order of 3 subs and a Diet Pepsi on DoorDash around 5 mins before stepping inside the restaurant, I walked up to one of the ladies who works there to remind em that I placed my order (since the last time I went here they didn’t notice my order until I reminded them about it) she told me “we’re working on it” I sat down.. and waited, and waited and watched the clock tick, played a full 27 min YouTube video, and still nothing, what’s more unbelievable is how slow the service was for a kitchen of 5 people, 2 ladies yapping behind the counter and 3 gentleman were getting out orders that were placed just 2 mins ago, me and my mother were getting impatient, we had an urge to cancel our order but after waiting nearly 40 mins our order was finally done, to say the taste of these subs being mediocre was an understatement, usually when I get Jersey Mike’s it’s packed with flavor and moist due to the vinegar and oil they drizzle on this mug, today was the most agitating, dragging, disappointing experience I’ve had from my personal fav sub restaurant, can’t forget how much humiliation I felt from this being my mother’s first impression on Jersey Mike’s along with hearing her say she won’t be back for...
