Starbucks — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

I don't understand the general appeal of Starbucks. There are so many other fantastic choices for your coffee fix around here. Shops like Dark Matter, Portage Grounds, New Wave Coffee, or Perkolator or the countless others in the city that just do it so much better.

For example, I order a mocha latte from pretty much every coffee shop I go into. What Starbucks does is use what tastes like cheap kinda waxy chocolate. And then they top it with a huge dollop of oily whip cream. A latte with whip cream. It's not hot cocoa. Milk froth is what should really be there. There's something magical about the taste of good frothed milk in a latte. It's lost at a Starbucks.

But for whatever reason, Starbucks seems to have tons of business despite the better options available. It's not like it's bad coffee, but for the same money, there's plenty that's better and...

I don't care about any other Starbucks in the USA, this is thee best ever. Best customer service, best crafted coffees, and most importantly, the best baristas. It's pretty busy and they run out of pastries pretty fast. The baristas get to know you and if you come in regularly, they will remember your drink so by the time you get to the register while waiting in line, your coffee is ready!

The weekends are crowded but the customers are locals and that's what makes this place great. The customers care about their neighborhood so they won't litter, they won't ignore you and strangers will chat you up.

Yes, this is what a neighborhood cafe should be like. Their small and intimate patio is comfortable and shady under some trees in a nice part of Irving Park. Try this location and you'll wonder why other Starbucks location don't make you feel as welcome...

When I tell you I HATE this Starbucks, I mean I HATE this Starbucks. Nine times out of 10 they will always get my drink wrong I don’t know why they hire such incompetent people and I don’t even wanna say that because there’s literally two people here who are very nice but the majority of the people who work here are not hitting the mark and I’m so sick of it. there’s no reason I should have to drive 15 minutes out of my way to a different Starbucks because this location is either sold out of popular drinks or they don’t follow directions and always get the order wrong of course when I’m on a time crunch and have to be back at work so then I can’t even go back and get the drink fixed I have to call...
