May Flower — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

Review updated. This small Chinese restaurant really stays busy in the evening. Mainly carryout but at least 3 eating in while I waited. Convenient. Huge parking lot. Well lit. Overhead lights. Tasteful Oriental, Buddhist decor. Muted colors. Tile floor design. Adequate seating. Patterned high back chairs. Laminate tables, intricate design. But so many housekeeping issues. Legs of chairs and tables rusted, chair tops sticky, cushions starting to fray. Floors need sweeping, walls need stain removal. Ceilings near windows show previous leaks. Food and tray still sitting on table. Empty fan box in front of eating area. No Wi-Fi. Of 3 electric wall outlets none functioning to charge your phone. NO rest room "Use the public (one) at the Jewel" I was told. This should be renamed "Just Food." The person at the counter seems brusque, but just focused. Smiles, softens on occasion as when recognizing repeat customers. She let me know, almost apologetically, my order may take a while because it was busy. That was nice.They will adjust spicy to mild. No gluten free. No kids menu. Vegetarian options. Orange Chicken overcooked, more chewy, crispy breading than chicken. Same with fried shrimp, which I will skip next time. Egg rolls ok, chewy. Very mild hot and sour soup, but loaded with ingredients. No clue what they are, no menu description. Enjoyed the beef teriyaki. Very pleasant shrimp fried rice. They use vegetable oil. Issue of pungent odor gone, just cooking smell, not bad. Delivery available for $3 min $6 order. Visa, MC only. Do yourself a favor. Stick to what you know is good. I ordered Mongolian Beef & Orange Chicken at Mayflower. It was the worst Chinese Food that I have ever eaten. There was something totally wrong with the beef meat and sauce. The meat tasted downright bad in a nasty sauce. Never tasted anything like it! The bland orange chicken was crispy in a mountain of breading with little meat. I called to tell them about the food and someone on the phone stated that Mongolian Beef is fatty and supposed to taste that way. Well I have eaten a lot of Mongolian beef in my lifetime and have never tasted anything so very disgusting and nasty…ever! The lady also told me that she would send the delivery driver to pick up the food so she could see what was wrong. I packed it up…glad to get rid of it out of my house. I am still waiting… Not sure what will happen here. But don’t waste your time and money on this place. The next day I went into the Mayflower and they gave me a full refund...

Terrible service. Was standing for 15 minutes and waiting to order smoothies. Been coming here for 10 years and owner was straight up ignoring me the entire time but when calls came in he would answer right away and act as if I was NOT there. I then spoke up and told him I’d been standing here for 15 minutes being ignored and he very rudely asked me what do I want. I told him I would like two smoothies and he yelled at me $10 as he ripped off the 10 dollar bill off my hand. He then told me to get out of the way since another customer was walking in right after he snatched the bill $10 out of my hand. I told him his service was extremely inappropriate so I demanded he give me the $10 back and to cancel the order. He threw the $10 back at me rudely and didn’t even apologize. This place has gone down the drain. Will tell all my family and friends to STOP coming to this...
