Ok so I will start with the fact that it IS an airport Mc Donald's at the end, so you can't really expect anything better than an actual brick and mortar restaurant. I was flying through O'Hare for a business trip and had a little bit of time to get something to eat.
There was a LOT of people there, and since this restaurant is essentially a "hole in the wall" people really have nowhere to go to wait for their order to get prepared, so they just stand there nearby the counter, somewhat blocking the concourse. You had 1 waiting lines to the right of the restaurant, one to get to the front manned counter, and the other to the self-order kiosk. These 2 lines were not clearly marked and some people just were jumping other people creating some awkward discussions. regardless, I managed to get to the counter and ordered my double-bacon Quarter Pounder meal with extra bacon.... for USD $16.00. Oooff. That was a little steep for a Mc Donald's meal.
The wait time was a solid 10mn, with a bit of an unknown as of how orders were dispensed. Some customers who arrived after me got served first, which could have something to do with the complexity of the orders. Anyways, I got my order and didn't even feel like asking for mayo at this point, I just wanted to eat. The sandwich looked ok but I was surprised to see that my medium fries came in a "small fries" paper sleeve.... and that's really not a lot of fries.
For 16 bucks I would have expected a bit more food, at least something that looks like what I get in a regular Mc Donald's restaurant. Felt a bit ripped off...
Read moreIt reads open 24 hours. It was 9:50 pm. I had delays I don’t get to Green Bay till midnight. I couldn’t get dinner in Houston because my flight was delayed then only had 15 minutes to get to my departing gate. My sugar runs very low when I don’t eat. I went to this McDonals the Hispanic guy was willing to make me something because I told him I will not be able to eat till midnight so he asked the manager a young African American girl, she said, No we are NOT going to make her anything we are close and if we make her we will have to make everyone else!!! Mind you my sugar was in the low side like 45 lucky I found a vending machine and drank an apple juice. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO...
Read moreI ordered the "Artisan" Grilled Chicken sandwich and a Rollo McFlurry. The total was almost $11--which is expected in an airport setting. But my sandwich was SO rubbery, I had to look down to make sure I wasn't chewing on a Mexican huarache sandal. Even visually inspecting the sandwich, it was impossible for me to determine if the texture was the result of the chicken being old, over cooked, or raw--all of which felt like viable options, considering the rubbery texture. Adding insult to injury is the fact that $1.50 more could have bought me a delicious hamburger, a chair to sit on, a couple of TVs to watch, and a friendly server at the Blackhawk Cafe...just a few steps...
