After a long flight, my visit to Cubs Bar and Grill at O'Hare Airport was a much-needed delight. The atmosphere echoed the team spirit of the Chicago Cubs, creating a comfortable and familiar setting for weary travelers. As for the food, nothing beats the satisfaction of sinking my teeth into an authentic Chicago dog. The iconic combination of a steamed poppy seed bun cradling a perfectly grilled, all-beef hot dog, topped with mustard, chopped onions, bright green relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato slices, sport peppers, and a dash of celery salt—each bite was a flavor explosion. The interplay of savory, tangy, and slightly spicy flavors was a celebration of the Windy City's culinary heritage. The Chicago dog at Cubs Bar and Grill was a masterpiece, capturing the essence of this classic street food. The snap of the hot dog combined with the medley of toppings created a symphony of flavors, making it a must-try for anyone passing through O'Hare Airport. Overall, Cubs Bar and Grill provided not just a meal, but a taste of Chicago's gastronomic culture, making it a standout spot for travelers seeking an authentic experience, especially if craving a quintessential Chicago dog.

Busy and large sports bar/restaurant located in the in the middle of O'Hare airport. Reasonably priced food and ridiculous priced drinks. Had the Chicago Hot Dogs which for $14.50 was reasonable for an airport meal although the (whole chili) peppers in the bun certainly could have been diced down. I passed on $16.00+ pint of Goose Island IPA and opted for ice water. Despite it being a sports bar the only thing on the many TV's were the two locally broadcast NFL games where in one the Packers were taking it to the Bears - so it was fun watching the staff lose their mind with the beat down of their beloved local NFL team. Seeing how it is such a transient location, seats filled and emptied regularly so finding a seat at one of the two bars was rather easy. Could have been worse, with the exception of the peppers on my specific Hot Dog meal, all other food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great.

This place is not amazing by any means, but my two experiences here have been more positive than the general reviews seem to be. Both times I've stopped in between flights, a server has noticed me arrive and taken my drink order quickly. The food came reasonably soon after I ordered. The servers were not chatty, but neither am I tbh. I appreciate the no-nonsense efficiency. The first time I ate here I ordered a salad, which came promptly and was quite good. The second time, I ordered the salmon w/ mashed potatoes and vegetable medley. The salmon was well cooked, flaky and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were decent. The vegetables, (zucchini and the like) were a lil watery but otherwise OK. It came with a pretty good-sized house salad with balsamic dressing as well, which I enjoyed. As others have noted, the prices are a bit high, but not too far beyond what you should expect from an airport restaurant.

The vibe was off the moment we walked into Cubs Bar & Grill at ORD. No greeting, no smile—just an overall unwelcoming energy. Our server rushed through taking our order like we were bothering her. Then only half of our order showed up.

After waiting eight minutes, we flagged down a different server to ask about the missing food. She reminded us (rather coldly) that she wasn’t our server but said she’d check. She did bring the rest out, but set it down without a single word and walked away. No eye contact, no acknowledgment. Just… dropped and left.

Another eight minutes passed before yet another server approached and asked if we were okay—but then took it upon herself to review our food. She hovered her dirty finger millimeters above our plates and said, “I like the peppers.” We were stunned. She moved her hand between both our plates, basically giving a tour of our meal—and then the unthinkable happened.

A piece of food waste from her hand FELL INTO our food. We were speechless. Just looked at each other in disbelief. There was still ¾ of a burger and a hot dog and a half left, but we weren’t eating that. It was in fact a piece of lemon pulp that fell from her hand. When it initially fell and we said something, she denied it. When I asked her if she was just cutting lemons, she recanted and said that she was. Even after that she said, “Do you want to just switch the plate?” That’s when we looked at each other in disgust.

Eventually, the food was taken away—no apology, no one came over. We sat there until finally someone told us the check was covered and we could leave. Just like that. As if that solved it.

We asked to speak to a manager. Enter Rogoleo Flores, who had already comped our meal without ever coming to our table. When he finally showed up, he was completely dismissive and lacked even the basic decency to acknowledge the situation or apologize. We left hungry and beyond disappointed.

This place is a total embarrassment to airport dining. If you’re flying through ORD and thinking of grabbing a bite here—don’t. You’re better off with a pre-packaged sandwich from a...

I had a disappointing experience at Cubs Restaurant. After waiting for about 15 minutes without being approached by any staff, I had to walk up to the bartender to place my order. If it weren't for her, I might never have been served. The lack of attention and the delay in service were frustrating. Additionally, I couldn't help but wonder if my experience was due to my appearance, as I felt somewhat ignored. Overall, the service left much to be desired and left me with a negative impression of the restaurant. To make matters worse, after I settled the bill for my meal, a young staff member chased after me to sign the ticket, even though it had already been signed. This lack of attention to detail continued even when I was leaving. This experience left me feeling unimportant and undervalued as a customer. Overall, the service at Cubs Restaurant fell short of expectations and left me quite disappointed. Absolutely, providing excellent customer service is a fundamental aspect of any service industry, especially in restaurants where tips play a significant role. Regardless of appearance or background, all customers should be treated with respect and attention. Regularly checking on customers to ensure their satisfaction is a basic expectation that contributes to a positive dining experience. It's disappointing when these standards aren't met, as it can leave customers feeling undervalued and...

On Saturday June 1, 2024 around 715-730pm; My friend and I was there for approximately 5 mins and was immediately greeted with a horrible attitude by bartender Dan. He didn’t even greet or acknowledge us. When we asked for him to wipe the counter top down because it was dirty, he literally grab a few paper towels, dipped it in the dish washer, wipe the table down and threw the paper towel at me and walked away. Even the couple next to us witnessed what happened and were in shocked. When I called him back over, I asked why would he throw the tissue at me, he said in his own words “well you can clean it some more”. We immediately asked for a supervisor/manager and he didn’t want to provide no information and he kept saying they’re not here and kept walking off on us. I approached another worker at the restaurant to ask for a manager information and they just told me a name. One of the workers said to me that “nobody likes working with him (Dan)”

There was literally no management to speak too. Dan had a unwelcoming attitude the moment we sat at the bar! He didn’t apologize or mad us felt welcomed. The other guest was of non African American descent, as we were two African American women. This was our first time here and I can’t help to think if this bar discriminate against towards African Americans especially women. I would NEVER step foot in there again!

PS: we went to another bar and was immediately welcomed with a warm greeting, they actually sanitized the bar top and made us feel like we...
