VERY poor service here. It's very unfortunate because the food is good. They also have the Impossible Burger here which is awesome!
Waitress ignored my friend and I after we said hello and told her we were ready to order. Because of the rudeness, I ordered my food at the counter. I assumed we could order at the counter and sit at a table since there is no sign indicating that. Also, I was never asked if I wanted my food to-go or sitting service. When I ordered 2 Impossible Burgers the girl says, "You know that's not meat right?" very rudely. I was thinking, "What the hell is up with this place?" It's all about how you deliver your message, she could have been nicer about vegetarian food. After a while the same waitress comes back and tells us we had to move because we ordered at the counter. She was extremely unfriendly from the very beginning and had no tact. I spoke to the manager and she completely defended the waitress saying, "Oh, you know how waitresses are if you take away their table." There is NO justification for rudeness. The place lacks customer service. We never got an apology! I saw many people, including airport employees, eating outside food while sitting down at the same tables. The manager explained sometimes they allowed that but since it was rush hour (3-4pm) they could not let us sit there. You cannot pick and choose, it is discrimination. The manager did tell us we could remain seated until our food was ready, but still, it was handled very unprofessionally. Just like the waitress, she lacked empathy. While we were waiting, the same waitress comes back and tells us we had to move NOW because a family of 4 was waiting for the table. We explained the manager said we could stay seated until our food was ready but she said, "No, you have to get up now. The family is waiting and I have tips to earn." I could not believe this kind of behavior is allowable at this nice restaurant. My friend and I were shocked!! We got no respect the entire time even though we were paying customers. The waitress even touched our things so we can move out of the table faster.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE! THEY DO NOT RESPECT...
Read moreWhile traveling to Chicago, I was again faced with the usual challenge – finding good or decent food at the airport. I spotted a lovely looking place with a lovely name. They had good amount of seating for an airport, and decorated nicely with hanging plants, wooden ceiling, and lights hanging from the ceilings. It was a nice little oasis in the busy Chicago airport.
I ordered some breakfast, and a cookie called “Crispy Chocolate Chip” cookie. It had squared of rice crispie treats on it, and I love rice crispie treats, so it was no brainer. And let me tell you, it was HUGE! It was so big that I kind of got nearly full with it. Well, with that much sugar, I can see I would be full with it. It was good, a bit too sweet, maybe really too sweet…it gave me a sugar rush and woke me up. LOL.
Then the food was ready, so I went to the counter to pick them up. I ordered The Original Morning Sandwich and Crispy Hashbrowns. I was excited for hashbrown, as I always liked hashbrown. When I saw their square hashbrown in a box, I was a bit sad, and it had no flavor…
Sandwich was pretty good, especially compared to the hashbrown. The chicken sausage had pretty good flavor. It was really big too, since I was kind of full with the huge cookie, this sandwich was too much for me to finish. As I was eating the sandwich, I noticed oil collected on the bottom of the box for both hashbrown and sandwich. So I guess they are not very healthy…
The staff there was ok, polite enough but not overly friendly. The overall experience was…well, just a-ok. I liked the cookie, but again, it was a bit too sweet. It would have been better if I had someone to share the huge cookie with. The same goes for the sandwich. Will not recommend the hashbrown. Read moreMy son and I planned to get a bite her prior to our hopping on our flight. The workers told us (and other guests waiting) they did not open until 11:30. That was fine. We waited. So did the other guests.
At 11:30, we hung out at our table since we still had plenty of time. However, a line began to form with other customers who had been waiting for them to open.
I couldn't hear exactly what was happening, but it was clear they did not open after all. There was one man who was very visibly angry about this, as he has been there longer than my son and I.
We'd been hanging out there about an hour, but since we had nothing better to do we weren't upset having to hang out or wait...
And we were only looking for a snack since we'd eaten a large breakfast, anyway, so for us it wasn't a big deal.
For those who clearly were depending on this location for their pre-flight meal, however, there definitely was a lack of communication between the staff and customers. This was very frustrating for them, which is understandable and they do not feed you on flights.
Not to mention, due to hurricanes in the gulf they were taking longer than usual that weekend. Matter of fact, ours actually ended up delayed and we had to spend the night in Chicago. 🥴
I understand mistakes happen. We are all human! However, nothing at all was done to address their upset customers. In fact, it almost seemed like the staff treated new guests who approached their restaurant like a nuisance - if they did greet the customer it was with little or no eye contact and a snippy comment - such as "Not till 11:30!!"
We watched ALOT of people just walk away.☹️
It looked like a really cool place with yummy stuff. We were bummed out!
Even though we had extra time due to our flight delay, we left and did...
