Santiago's restaurant — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

I decided to place an order online, since they have a link to order thru DoorDash and another site where still says “Jerez restaurant”. I wanted to order thru DoorDash but when I clicked on the link says “Temporary Closed on DoorDash” and still has the former name Jerez tacos. So, I opted to use the other link which says was updated 2 days ago. I placed my order, then I called the restaurant to double check they received my order but the number was busy. I waited a few more minutes and dialed again and still was busy. I called 8 more times and still was busy then one hr passed and no food no update. So, I decided to drive to restaurant, when I arrived and asked if they received my order, they said they didn’t have it. I told the lady and the guy there; that I called so many times and the number they listed sounded busy every time I made the call. They were surprised, then I called the number in front of them and miraculously the phone was ringing. They said, they had a person fixing their computer and phone or something like that. They said to contact, where I placed the order. In other words, my experience with this first order under this new management was awful. They didn’t offer any kind of refund or honor my order. I left disappointed. For the new management: please!!! Check your links posted. I would never order or look at this restaurant ever again! Good luck! Hope this helps...

Overall, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in Chicago.

I've been here two times. First time, I ordered Huaraches, and second time, I ordered the gordita dinner. Both times, the food was excellent. The carne asada is incredibly well seasoned. The tortillas they use strike a balance between soft and toasty. Their rice and beans are simple but sharply executed in that they season and salt it to perfection and stick to the basics.

The service is good. They didn't get our order correct the second time we visited, however, they immediately corrected it and were thoughtful apologetic for the mistake.

I went here around mid afternoon for a late lunch. The place was obviously empty around this period of the day. Service was quick. Had asada taco dinner. It was great.
