I knew as soon as the Taco Max on Elston closed and some of the employees started moving over to this location, there would be issues. We stopped ordering from the one Elston a LONG time ago. A couple of years. We loved going in there, but they constantly made errors with delivery orders and didn't want to make right on them. They had that speaker blaring over their head so it's no wonder they couldn't get the order right. We were giving them so much business and they appreciated none of it. We started dining in and ordering delivery from this location on Montrose. It was always great. Great service. Delivery was 98% on point. We're great customers. I've ordered delivery twice now since the other location closed and both times the order was wrong. I asked for double rice no beans and had the girl repeat my order and the food arrives there's beans. Can't stand beans. I call to tell them and asked if they could send out more rice, she said we'd have to charge you for it. She said the kitchen must have got confused and made a mistake. That's fine, make it right. Charge me for something I already paid for? I asked for red and black sauce and said please make sure it's red and black because the last time it was red and green. She said "sure, no problem" well I'm sure you can guess what I got. If you're paying for something, you should get what you paid for. I get mistakes happen, but make right by it and show you appreciate your long time customers....
Read moreLupita is a horrible customer service worker. I called in an order for pick up. We went over the order at least twice. The most frustrating part, the order was still messed up. Ordered a chicken taco salad and a steak salad, both with extra lettuce. Each meal comes with 3 salsas. I requested red for both orders, and asked for an additional 4. Well, I only got 4 red salsas, which they had mo problem charging me for. But they did not include the other 6 missing. When I called the restaurant, I got a, "we are so sorry for our error" but they wanted me to drive back to the restuarant to come pick up my salsas?! She would not issue a refund for the salsas she charged me for. Mind you, they forgot the extra lettuce also. She was extremely rude and hung up the phone on me!! It was like pulling teeth to get her even give her name, probably because she knew she messed up. She said she is not allowed to provide the owners name to follow up with either? Don't know how true that is but of course when I asked for follow up from the manager, never recieved it. 2 days and counting. There were 3 women working behind the counter when I went to go pick up my food, and they spent more time laughing and chit chatting than they did actually working. It's unfortunate, because the food wasn't horrible, but the customer service killed any positive taste of that place. Shame on you Lupita! You have a lot to learn when it comes to being respectful and in...
Read moreI've been ordering here for about a year now. It used to be very good quality food. But the last 3 times I ordered, the food has been pretty bad. They are using a different cut of steak now it seems, for the steak burrito. It's fattier and more chewy and thicker. It isn't the same steak at all. Also the tortillas used to be slightly toasted it but it's been soggy the last few times and sloppy. It falls apart. The way they cut it diagonally now also makes the contents fall out. It's not appealing at all.
They also forgot to add onion and cilantro to it when I asked for it. The rice was also mushy because it was overcooked. I literally had balls of rice so squished together like it was mashed potatoes. Pic below
I withheld making a bad review the first few times because I figured it might have been a fluke and I didn't want to hold them accountable for a one off bad day. But not only has it been 3 times now, but each time the quality got worse and worse. So I had to finally make this review. Maybe they got new cooks in the past few months, idk. But it's a shame because I really used to love their steak burritos. I'll have to start...
