I have been going here for maybe a year and each time was a decent experience. I would receive weird looks and it’s a weird vibe but for the most part no one is disrespectful and it’s the only food place close to my destination. I ordered my usual. My mother and I were speaking about the omelette because we notice the middle was burnt. I guess the waiter overheard us and was asked how the food was. I stated it was burnt in the middle but that a good portion of the edible parts we ate so I don’t want to say anything. The busboy seemed mad about this and stopped collecting dishes to watch us. I noticed how the bus boy looked at my mother and I so I stated it’s doesn’t need to be replaced. The server came over and spoke to me. I stated this is the first time this has happened so it’s not a big deal. She wanted to take the food back. I stated a good amount had been eaten and we were getting full from the pancakes so I refused. The waiter insisted on taking my whole plate with the other food I had on it. I tried to say it’s ok but she wasn’t taking no for an answer. She came back with a smaller omelette and stated it was small because we had ate a good amount of it. My mom tried to explain to her that the omelette was wasn’t fully cooked but she seemed a little annoyed so I stated it ok. I thought maybe it was just a little runny and that the melted cheese made it look worse. I just felt weird in the situation due to the busboy stating and rolling his eyes. I didn’t want to cause any trouble. I did notice the other items that were on my plate (hashbrowns) were not returned or replaced. I then asked her about the hashbrowns. I stated we barely got to eat them so can we have them back in a to go box. She stated no because the plate was thrown away. I didn’t understand why she took the plate and not just item and I didn’t understand why the hashbrowns we didn’t really get to eat were not replaced. She still gave us a to go box. After trying to eat the new omelette I realized it was liquid/wet all over. It wasn’t edible and I wish I had taken a picture of it. But why do Restaurants do that? If something is burnt and you get it replaced they make it also raw. I felt like they were annoyed by us even though when we came we paid and tipped well. We didn’t even want a replacement omelette and I wish I had never said anything. I paid and tried to leave the omelette there but the waited insisted we take it. We took it and just threw it away. I don’t think I’ll be back because the whole hashbrown thing upset me. I thought it was logical to replace the food you mistakenly threw away especially if I still have to pay for it. I didn’t want to do this review because when the food was good I never did a review about it. But maybe it was because I felt weird and like we were being tolerated. However this situation happened a week ago and it’s still on my mind. It makes me upset I was willing to accept whatever and frequented an establishment I didn’t feel a 100% comfortable at. I just hope they do better...
Read moreI have ordered lemon meringue pies from the establishment for going on two years. When you buy any pie from them, it comes in a high-quality steel pan which if you decide/are able to return to their establishment you can trade that pan back in for a five dollar rebate on your next pie. I have always done this. Also, I have only ordered pies ahead of time which took no more than three days for them to fulfill my order. In the rural badlands of The North Woods of Wisconsin I consider this impressive. The pie always has ultra flaky crust with no less than 3 1/2 inches of meringue (I have measured with a tape measure) as well as a further 2 inches of lemon below the meringue and above the crust. The young women who check me out At the counter when I pick up my order and pay are always cheerful and professional when they were at their busiest with sitdown clientele I never waited more than two minutes. In this way, they are in my opinion the gold standard of what a customer could expect from service In this area of the state. That said? I also always and only pick up my orders wearing an N 95 mask to protect myself and others in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which is afflicted the world since 2020. As a direct result of my health decisions, I have on more than one occasion received undue stares and insulting giggles at my appearance while I was paying good money as well as cash tips For their products and services. For this reason, I have not returned in several months despite their out of this world product.
Perhaps I will have better and more respectful service the next time I have occasion to order and drive the more than 45 minutes required to pick up what I consider some of the best pie on the North American continent (my current vocation has afforded me traveling to three different continents on this earth as well as enjoying Michelin star rated baked goods). Maybe not. I shall update my review as time, tied, and...
Read moreI did a delivery order through grubhub and the order was placed at 10:48 AM. The delivery time was pushed back multiple times and I never got contact from the restaurant. I called the restaurant at 12:50 where a lady told me that grub hub never sent a driver. I asked why I did not receive a call from the restaurant. She asked, "have you ever done this before?" I let her know that yes I had done grub hub several times and had received calls from restaurants in the past when there were issues with my order. She then said that she did not get any driver or contact from the driver and that she ended up eating my order since no one was there to pick it up. I then asked why it did not occur to her to call the customer who had placed the order to let them know that the food was coming. She then repeated that she never received the driver for the food. I then asked if she had my number. She replied yes. I asked why she did not once try to contact me. She then said that they were really busy. She tells me they were busy after she had said SHE ATE MY FOOD!!!!! I never knew what disrespect a restaurant could put on a customer. I said thank you for your time and ended the...
