1st time, for a carry out, got cream cheese strawberry fr toast & reuben sub hashbrowns for fries &soup. Looked at prices online, should've been $21 plus tax. I get there, nothing but attitude from the cashier, who is a bit older, but she charged me $44!!! She kept insisting that was right. $12 reuben, but She is saying it's $16 .99 and fr toast was $14. 99??? In WHAT world??? Then she says and the total was $44. Huh?? How is 32 =44 and whaaaaat??
Pay. Go to car. Check priceThen when I go back in, gives me $7 back. . So I STILL paid $37 for what i thought would be $22??? That's quite the price hike considering i checked door dash prices.
Nothing but attitude from the grumpy lady, no apology, nothing. But she was on the senior side and maybe someone else needs to work the register. The crowd looked like they were all regulars and could feel all eyes on me. Didn't feel very warm. Glad I got my food to go. I'm tired of all eyes on me when your walk into any neighborhood place. Geez.... just cuz I don't live by you, does it mean in stick going to Panera and Chipotles of the world? I'm tired of it. Be nicer. It's not YOUR neighborhood.
The food, though, just to be fair, the was not bad... and the reuben was VERY good except i asked for extra dressing and sauerkeaut (didn't get it, but i BET i got charged for it). Ok fr toast, so-so on the hashbrowns. Not worth $37 and all kinds of attitude, that's for sure .....m.
I'm not happy being overcharged and treated with hostility, but she just had to be right. Maybe you have to be a regular to get better service and charged correctly. I definitely didn't get treated well nor charged the right amt.
Will not...
Read moreOld School diner, but in the best way. Didn't see the sign that said hours were 6:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. Well, did, because it's right on the door, but it just didn't register.
Server didn't say anything as we came in, and seated us, but then shortly said, "Are you ready to order?" We said, "in a minute," which was when she said, "we close at 2:00." It was 1:52! Our mistake
We asked if it was all right to order and they were happy to serve us. Two other customers also came in and were served. Didn't get the bums rush, and food was very good. Wife and I both had the patty melt special and for $10, it was a deal. Fries were perfect and my wife is very finicky about French fries. And the rye bread was crisp, onions grilled spot on.
We were treated like regulars and so nice and friendly. Plenty of parking in the back and side. All in all, like the sort of place you hope to find on a road trip. Good food, well priced, great service. It's about 25 miles from our place in the suburbs, or we'd be back often.
Nothing fancy, but very, very comfortable.
Oh, cash only. No cards. That was probably on the door, too. Would have left better than the 20% tip we did for making them stay late, but who carries cash...

We LOVED our first time at Yellow Rose! Sara our server greeted us when we walked in and made us feel like she knew us from the get go. She praised the chef’s as she explained the day’s specials and gave us great recommendations.
I had the Turkey Club (for breakfast because Sara did such a fantastic job of selling the fresh cooked turkey) and let me tell you, THE BEST club sandwich I’ve ever had!!!
My husband had the biscuits and gravy, and thought it was great as well.
I wish we lived in the area, we would def be regulars...
