Edgebrook Woods — Attraction in Jefferson Township

Definitely the more creepy forest preserve I've been to. I went on a Sunday around 4:30 and it seemed mostly empty. However, there were about 5 or 6 vehicles in the parking lot there, with people in them, just idling the vehicle the entire time. I'm not sure if there was something going on or if they're rideshare drivers on break or what. But once I ventured out into the woods, it was just constantly young guys out there smoking pot and hanging around. It was two or three different groups of young guys in the woods just beyond the parking lot doing their thing. Live and let live, but I'm trying to take a break from the city and get some fresh air, not huff car exhaust...

I went here with my family to go on a quick walk in the woods. The walk itself was good, but I thought it was weird that the only other people in the park were single men. And they all would just enter the woods at the same place - not on a trail. There must have been dozens of men there and us. And many of them were acting suspicious, and giving us looks like we shouldn't be there. It was weird. I looked through some of the reviews, and I'm not the first one to point this out. I didn't feel great about having my kids there.

I don't know what was going on - but I have some guesses. But I think we should all be aware that something is definitely up...

I came here today to enjoy my lunch and the weather. However , when I got there, there were nothing but men. About 7 cars parked, with single men sitting in them, men coming from the woods, men standing at their cars talking. It was a bit odd that there were no women or children at all. As a single woman, I want other women to be aware of this. No one bothered me, just a bunch of stares as if I wasn’t supposed to be there. May be a spot for men to meet other men. This is a Friday afternoon...
