Stumbled across this place going somewhere else for an early dinner & as I drove past their outdoor open bar patio it caught my attention and I made a quick U turn and so glad I did ! This patio alone is 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s! Italian Rest/Bar and it was good 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️. Atmosphere, ambience, service and food/drinks all good!. a bit over prices + a service fee for using your credit card but 🤷‍♂️oh well, every restaurant seems to be doing it these days is ( downfall) covid was the reason behind it before so there's no reason for it now, not for the prices they charge. Anyhow, we had 3 " shareables " basically the appetizers which for these appetizers and 2 drinks( Old Fashion & Espresso Martini) totaled almost 100 dollars with the rax, tip, service fee together. Can't say it was worth 100 dollars but 🤷‍♂️ 1st-Brussel sprouts with pieces of bacon and creamy goat cheese( pretty good) but I would add a drizzle of basalmic glaze to make this dish really good! 2- Also ordered the shrimp Scampi which they serve in a small cast iron - 5 shrimps were pretty big absolutely served with lemon juice in the cast iron ... nothing to write home about except the shrimps felt more steamed vs grilled, But I guess paying almost 4 dollars per shrimp is ehhh- not something I'd ordered again, and 3- we had the beef tips sautéed in a wine sauce with very small diced veggies and crumbled blue cheese- this would've been fantastic because it was so tender but I would've switched the cheeses and put the goat cheese with this plate and the blue cheese with the brussel sprouts. This plate was ok because it tasted too salty. Overall again , the patio is very inviting and fun , and I'll be back for the drinks and to enjoy the outdoor vive

The outdoor space was beautiful and nicely done, but sometimes when it’s windy, it’s not easy to eat and the food can get cold quickly. There’s a big outdoor section and you have choices of where to sit where there’s more light or more wind and more exposure, but they also have umbrellas, which are very helpful. The food was very good, especially the lasagna that was individually done and made from scratch and inside an individual cast iron pan. The portion was amazing and it’s wonderful if you’re starving. Otherwise you can have a leftovers. The fish special for bass was really good after we asked them to make it simple without the sauce. It came out way too salty the first time. And for $30, We didn’t think it was worth it because the fish wasn’t very plump or juicy and there wasn’t a lot of fish. The sausages and peppers were very good and tasty and fresh. The drink was very good. The wait staff were very attentive. There is Free Parking on the street if you can find it and it wasn’t that difficult to find. There is no private parking lot. Overall, it’s a beautiful and big restaurant and the food is very good. They have chewy Italian bread on the house that comes with grated Parmesan cheese and some vinegar, flavored vegetable vegetables, and olives.

I went for an event in the patio. Started at the bar while waiting. Good service and friendly staff. After event I stayed for dinner. The veal Zia ? Was exquisite. The warmth and blend of flavors reminded me of the cuisine I had in Italy. The depth of flavor in the sauce helped tie the dish together. The polenta surprisingly was good with this dish. The veal and spinach were just great. It was trying to get every piece of the dish I to the bite was slightly challenging because their were so many savory pieces. It was a wonderful entree. The suggested wine complimented the meal as well. The tiramisu lost the star for me. I can see the vision, but lacking. Not traditional tiramisu. The Cake tasted drenched in liqueur. It was also cake not a savoulde. The top had dark cocoa and drizzled chocolate. With strawberries to accent the plate. The flavor was with the drizzled chocolate and not the Tiramisù. It just felt like a cake created for a church social or block party. Not good. Other than that the restaurant was excellent.

Had my wedding luncheon here in September 2024 and could not recommend it enough for a small wedding! Thank you so much to all the amazing staff who helped with our event.

We reserved a section in the 4 seasons room for our luncheon and they also gave us some space on patio that we used for our short ring exchange ceremony. You can also rent out the whole space if you have a larger event. The space is so beautiful I didn't need to add any wedding decorations. The patio area has wonderful flowers and the 4 seasons room has brick walls with English ivy and other lovely decorations (plus I love the bike!). The great part about the 4 seasons room is that they open all the windows if it is nice outside, so you have flexibility with the weather and the 4 seasons room is heated.

They were very accommodating! They made us a menu with all vegetarian and vegan/gluten free options and made labels for everything. The guests loved the food and drinks. We got so many compliments. One of our vegan guests said it was the best vegan food they ever had at a wedding! We had fried Brussel sprouts (so good!), bruschetta, shaved cauliflower salad, avocado salad, eggplant parmigiana, margarita pizza (from a brick oven!) , and pasta primavera. And the fresh bread baked there was delicious. We got our desserts from Central Continental Bakery. They kept the desserts in the refrigerator and brought them out for us when it was time for desert. They also gave us a discount when sampling the food options for our event which was so nice! At the end they packed up all of our food in containers and we have been enjoying all the leftovers.

I also really like how transparent the event prices are online. I had been really stressed out trying to find a place for a small wedding that fit my budget (I truly cannot stand the wedding industrial complex!), had some outdoor space, and vegetarian/vegan options. I honestly almost gave up looking for places in the Chicago area (especially since I am out of town) until I got lucky and found this place. I am so happy I did!

Another plus is that you can walk here from the Harlem station (it took me about 20ish minutes when I first visited) and it is right next to the Norwood Park train station. Parking is easy to find. And the event space is on the first floor which is good for guests that may not be able to use the stairs.

This place will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you to so much to everyone at Zia's! I would give you 10...

I was a huge fan of the old Zias and the new Zias looks incredible but something along the move changed the service and food. I’ll start with the good. The new places design is amazing it looks beautiful on the inside and the food isnt too bad either. Now for the bad. Went last night and the server was extremely rude and pushy. We told them we were there for a birthday and wanted time to look over the menu and have a few drinks before ordering. Every 2 minutes he came over and asked if we were ready to order. Mind you this early the place was empty probably 30% full. Once we did decide to order and appetizer he brought it back sat it down and within 2 minutes of it being on the table the Busboys and other servers came over and continued to try to take it away WITH FOOD STILL ON THE PLATE. My wife was eating slow and they came over 3-4 times and tried to take her plate WHILE she was eating off it. When the food came out it was decently good as I remember but the moment our plates where clear the server kept asking us if we wanted our check. Mind you we had been drinking all night and were planning to have more. Then to top it all off the Manger walks over and ask “Are you guys done? You want your bill?Or are you going to staying.” We proceeded to tell him we don’t know since we hadn’t seen our server in a bit, since it had gotten busy, it was understandable. The manager then decided to tell us “well are you planning to stay for the band or not because we have people waiting on tables.” Not once did he ask us about our food, if we enjoyed the dinning experience, or if we wanted about drink. After it was brought to his attention by the server how rude it was because then we did ask for our bill he then offered us complimentary drinks AT THE BAR. Which I don’t like I’ve ever seen 5 people turn down so Fast so we could get out of there. I’m extremely disappointed in the service and very thankful I hadn’t booked any events there or taken any other...
