4-Sisters is your typical home-town family restaurant in decór and menu offerings. However they only seat an evening dinner service on Friday evenings, they close after the lunch seating on all other days they're open.
Service can be spotty, depending on your server. Coffee refilld werrn't offered, nor for refills on ice water; I'd actually asked for a glass of "just ice" - got iced water instead.
The food is good, well-prepared, served in a well-paced manner, plates look nice and food was very tasty.
But, DO go on Fridays, because that's the gold mine of the week! Their fish-fry specials are FANTASTIC and they offer a prime rib so tender, it almost melts in your mouth!
Unfortunately, they had already sold out of their BBQ baby-back ribs on the Friday we went there. My side salad starter was...meh. My husband's starter, the chicken noodle soup, was quite good: thick homestyle noodles, chunks of real chicken, vegetables and a delicious broth.
The first course would've been better with freshly warmed dinner rolls, but, alas! we were served ovoids of "bread rolls"; that were cold and not quite baked completely; with their plastic wrappers still on them. At least the tiny butter cups (about ½ tsp each!) were soft.
My husband ordered the chicken-fried steak; the "steak" was very tender, not overly breaded and tasty. He'd ordered the French fries, but was not ever asked if he wanted the very sad-looking bowl of overcooked and almost inedible mixed vegetables he was served. (No, no options for this were available.)
As I rhapsodised earlier, my 10oz Prime Rib was a star all by itself! Perfectly seasoned as well and arrived a perfect medium-rare. The baked potato was alright, I was somewhat surprised it arrived pre-cut, but it was steamed/baked just right. They only had sour cream and butter, no broccoli florets, chives, cheese, bacon crumbles, etc. But, honestly? That prime rib was the diva, so adding a bunch of "stuff" to the potato wasn't of real importance to me. (And, yes, I got those same, sad mixed veggies. Both mine and my husband's were sent back, with no alternative offered.)
Our waitperson was very cheery and welcoming, though we got no refills on our coffee and no dessert options were offered.
Our bill came to just under $30.00. Yes, we will...
Read moreWent for lunch on a Saturday. Was greated with a loud (the owner??) cook being very loud with his waitstaff. We ordered lunch. Corn beef, for me, pizza burger for her. My corned beef was so overdone that I couldn't even bite thru it. (See picture) and my wife's pizza burger was tasteless, and the pizza sause left a sour taste in her mouth. So, neither sandwiches were eaten. Fries on both plates were well overdone and tasted like they were fried in very old grease as well. My soft drink lemonaide was nasty as well. It wasn't lemonade. Over heard the waitstaff tell cook/owner that "this the 3rd person that can't eat their food today" overheard her apologies to several customers while we are there. The wait staff seemed tired and just looking forward to getting done with their shift. The only thing good was the soup, and it was off the Cysco truck. Will not be going back. Will not recomend. Felt really bad for the staff as it was told to me that the owner always talks "Like...
Read moreI've been here a couple of times in the past and didnt care for the place. But my mom and i decided to give it another shot and came here for brunch on a weekday. It wasn't busy at all. The woman who seated us seemed annoyed that we even came in, but the woman who served us was very polite and friendly. The food took a long time to come out even though the restaurant was dead. The food wasn't very good. I ordered a skillet which came with a very small sprinkle of shredded cheese (being a true Wisconsinite I love my cheese) so it was way too little for me. The toast was very dry and bland along with the whole meal. I only had a couple bites of my food and decided to get subway instead. Also, the decor in this place REALLY should be updated. This entire experience would probably explain why the place is so dead. Will...
