Bay (Thai Take Out) — Restaurant in Jersey City

One thing that this neighbourhood has been missing is a good Thai restaurant. And Bay is an AMAZING Thai restaurant.

Their Tom Yum is hands down the best I’ve ever had in NYC and JC. I am from the South East Asian region so growing up, I’ve had a lot of authentic Thai food cooked by Thai locals and this feels like home. The balance between hot and sour, the lemongrass and the galangal, the chillies and the lime leaves, the balance is so wonderful, my mouth is dancing. You can adjust the spice level but I went for spicy like the Thai’s do and my ears are tingling, my mouth is so happy I could cry.

We also ordered the Panang Curry with chicken as our protein, Gai Lan in a garlic sauce and a side of ginger rice. The curry is exceptional! It’s coconutty, sweet and spicy and the chicken falls off the bone. The Gai Lan is so flavourful and just that with a bowl of hot, steaming ginger rice is already a meal to remember.

If you’re looking for Thai food as it should be, made by Thai people, then this is the place to get it from. The owners are such gems and I am so happy they’ve opened up around the corner from where I am.

We have been loyal to another Thai restaurant about 20 minutes away, but we were so excited to try this place since it’s right down the street from us and WOW. It definitely did not disappoint.

We are so happy this place has made it to the neighborhood . The flavors are incredible. Tonight we ordered Massaman Curry, Tom Yum Soup, Basil chicken over rice, and Pineapple fried rice to really get a taste of all our favorites. We were absolutely blown away by how flavorful the dishes tasted! So rich, consistent, and fresh the whole way through.

Also want to mention that the staff is so friendly, caring, and took time to make everything all to order. They were the whole reason we wanted to come in the first place because after reading their menu on the window one day, the sweet lady came out and welcomed us and said we should stop by soon and my gosh are we glad we did.
