New Fish Plus — Restaurant in Jersey City

If you're looking for the best fish spot, with the best fish sandwich - go to market street in Newark. Joon Fried fish market has the best fish combos and sandwiches. I get whiting and flounder and I've recently tried those dishes here and was underwhelmed. Both places aren't very nice establishments, or in the best areas, im judging solely the food. The fish portions at Sea to You were small for both flounder and whiting. They dont even offer old bay seasoning for the fish after its done cooking as Joon does and the tartar sauce is cheap and watery unlike Joon's. I recently moved to this area, and was referred to this place by 4 different people and thought I would try it. I gave it 2 chances, had flounder with wheat bread and fries (the fries weren't very crispy) the first time and whiting with wheat bread the second (brought my own old bay, and asked for my fries and fish to be extra crispy) and...

The food was disgusting the french fries was overcooked. The fish tasted old the scallions were fake imitation meat and the selection of fresh fish let's just say what selection. They need to shut that place down. They be hiding behind the plastic you can't see nothing that they doing. That should have been red-flagged but the first red flag actually should have been the way the place look. dirty and disgusting. After paying my hard earned money I am disappointed. I threw it away could not eat most of if because it was over cooked. I guess to hide the old taste of it I'm not sure but they won't get another $22 out of me...

Good fried menu, prices are descent, good variety meals. They sell fresh raw fish as well, no fishy odor. They have a bench where you wait for your food to be prepared. There's parking outside as well, some people sit in the car and check in to see if they're food is done. I've come to this spot for over 30 years easy. We bought the #8, 3 shrimp, 4 scallops, 2 crabsticks, $9.50. Fried good, however there's 1 thing I must mention, the shrimp are not deveined, I forgot because I hadn't been here in awhile, but everything else was good. Service was on fast...
