First off, if I could give this establishment 0 stars, I would. This place was originally not my first choice to eat at. The first restaurant (Jamaica Paradise Kitchen) that I went to ran out of rice after I was already in line for 30 min. I went online and found this place and opted to come here based off the ā€œamazingā€ almost 5 star reviews that they had. I placed an order on the phone and went to go pick up my food. It took me a little more than 20 minutes to get there and when I got there, I still had to wait an additional 10 minutes for my food to finish. I didn’t stress it. I ordered a beef patty, which was nasty, to buy some time since I was hungry. When I got home and was finally able to eat, I was so upset with the food that I ordered. The oxtail was so tough that I couldn’t even stick my fork in it, let alone try and bite through it. Mind you I had to wait for them to finish cooking it. To make it worse it didn’t even taste good. Then the rice was mushy and the cabbage had a weird after taste. I paid almost $100 for my order and was so upset that the only thing that tasted good was the festival.

I do my best to try and support black business as much as I can, but I cannot go back to this place. They over charged and the food was not good at all.

I am from NYC where the Jamaican food is great. I am convinced the people in Houston do not know what good Jamaican food is because this is about the 10th Jamaican restaurant that I have tried in Houston and the Houston area and every single time I get disappointed. And I know it true, because I ask other people who know Jamaican food and they say the same exact thing.

I really am sorry that I had to do this review, because I never write reviews, but I need the owners and cooks to see this because they need to do better. Because this is...

🌟 Five Stars for Flavor and Hospitality! 🌟

If you're craving bold, authentic Jamaican cuisine served with a side of warm island hospitality, this restaurant is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted like family smiles all around, attentive service, and a genuine passion for making you feel at home.

šŸ½ļø The Food: Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish bursts with flavor and soul. The jerk chicken is smoky, spicy perfection with just the right char. The oxtail stew melts in your mouth, rich and savory with a depth of seasoning that speaks to generations of tradition. And don’t even get me started on the sides fluffy rice and peas, buttery plantains. Each bite feels like a celebration.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ‘©ā€šŸ‘§ā€šŸ‘¦ The Service: Top-notch. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely proud of the food they serve. They’re quick to offer recommendations and happy to share the stories behind the dishes. You’re never rushed, and every detail from presentation to pacing is handled with care.

šŸŽ¶ The Vibe: Laid-back and vibrant, with reggae tunes playing softly in the background and the scent of spices wafting through the air. It’s the kind of place where you linger longer than planned, just soaking it all in. Whether you're a longtime lover of Jamaican food or trying it for the first time, this spot delivers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great flavor, warm service, and a taste of the Caribbean right in the heart...

This was an AMAZING choice, I found them on Google maps and gave them a try which I’m grateful I did! I went with the jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage! It was a hit,or hittin as Jamaicans would say!!! I asked them to put curry goat sauce on the bottom of my rice and top and it was also amazing and I’m glad I did bc they actually included some curry goat which was an added surprise! I also chose this place because when I called, I asked if they made their own sorrel in house and they did and it was remarkable to say the least!!! I swear the only thing that had me sad was the fact that I went around 8:30 and they closed at 9, otherwise I probably would’ve ordered another large plate of maybe the curry chicken… All I can say is I’ve been looking for some really good Jamaican food for a long time here in Houston. I’ve been here for about five years and I have not found anything close to comparing to what I’m used to in Boston. But this probably has to be the best Jamaican food I’ve ever tasted or close to it. Oh my God all I can say is bring the family. You will love it. You’re not going to be disappointed. I also tried the carrot cake and now I want them to make me a large one for my birthdays going forward!!! It’s so soft and flavorful the icing is whipped to perfection not sure what all they put it in but all I know is I would love to work there!!! I told them oil work there for free even if I have to sell foot pictures to support...
