JJ Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Jersey Village

I love JJ's. They had it back home. The food doesn't disappoint but the customer service needs some training. The owner took my order. He was amazing.. However, the young lady with Burgundy hair doesn't know how to multitask. I watched a gentleman patiently wait thenget upset and leave because he had literally been waiting for about 15 minutes or more without anyone acknowledging that he was standing there she continued to take drive up orders in front of him, but didn't even speak. And then she missed a few items in my order as well and the young lady who was working the window was trying to ask her hey did you put this in the to go order? these are easily things that can be worked on or maybe better staffed.

Also, they need to wear hair nets because the young lady who did hand me my bag. Her hair was all over the outside of my bag. The food in the inside of the bag was fine. There was no Hair, but you cannot work in food preparation with loose hair, so I would suggest hairnets for sure. Other than that I will be back. This is my second...

First time trying this spot, my taste buds were blown away. The food was bursting with fresh, juicy flavor—it felt like a true Chicago experience.

But here’s the thing: restaurants often put their best foot forward when they know it’s your first visit. That might’ve been the case here.

I went back a second time because of how good it was the first time. Unfortunately, that same excitement turned into disappointment. The fish? The crust was falling off like a loose sleeve. The okra? Bland, with no flavor whatsoever.

I got the catfish nuggets, fried okra, roll, coleslaw and fried pickles. The fish is fresh, but lacking seasoning. The grey skin is still on it. Very disappointing. The pickles are ok, but for the amount they give you, they’re not worth it. Calling the coleslaw a “side” is offensive. It was tiny! I’m pretty sure it didn’t agree with my stomach. The roll was fine. The okra was meh. I went through the drive-thru and the car in front of me took forever, but my order was ready when I got to the window.
