We were looking for a new Thai restaurant in the Katy area since relocating from our previous residence that was closer to our favorite, Thai Spice restaurant on Bellaire. We read the high ratings and decided to give this spot a shot.
We arrived on a Monday evening at 8 pm. The restaurant was a lot smaller than I expected, and when we arrived, there were 2 tables occupied and 4 other tables that still had dirty plates and cups at the table that had not been cleared. This was the first red flag, but we didn't want to jump to conclusions.
We were seated by an older gentleman and given menus. He was friendly but moved very slowly and was able to handle only one plate at a time. Seeing as they closed at 9 pm, we quickly ordered the Shrimp Tom Yum soup, Thai chicken basil, and the 3 flavored fish tilapia.
It took 45 minutes for our very small Tom Yum soup to arrive, another 10 minutes for the chicken basil, and at 9 pm, we received our tilapia. The food was average at best, incomparable is you've truly had really great Thai food. The food did not meet our high expectations from the high ratings. The restaurant needs help, obviously from the help wanted sign posted in front, but one server and one cook in the back aren't gonna cut it. We could overhear other customers also complaining about the wait time that had arrived after us.
We really wanted to like this place, but the extremely long wait, dirty plates, bowls, and cups laying everywhere and the average tasting food was enough for us to make it a "at least we tried it once, but no more" spot. I hope they get...
Read moreAbsolutely delighted with our dining experience at Pranee's Thai Cuisine and Noodle House! The Pad Thai with beef was a revelation; the beef was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The portion was generous, and the combination of soft noodles with the crunch of mung beans and crushed peanuts was perfectly balanced.
The egg rolls, filled with chicken and shrimp, were hot, crispy, and well-stuffed. Couldn't have asked for more. And don't even get me started on the beef satay; those medium-rare skewers, alongside the pickled cucumbers and peanut sauce, were an outstanding pairing.
The Yom Neua dishâthe beef was incredibly tender and the balance of spicy, sweet, and salty flavors, elevated by herbs and cilantro, was impeccable. Chef Pranee even visited our table to ensure everything was to our liking, which was a delightful personal touch.
Bill, our server, deserves praise too. He was kind, polite, and very patient as he took our orders. Loved how he started us off with mild spice levels but provided a spice rack with options like chili oil and Serrano peppers to kick it up a notch.
All in all, a five-star experience that I would...

Well the food is amazing. Very fresh and flavorful.
Started with the Thai shrimp dumplings, great flavor and the broth it is served in I wanted to drink with a straw đ.
Entrees we went with Pad Thai and Red Curry with chicken as our protein. The Pad Thai was fresh and noodles were perfectly cooked. The Red Curry was the star of the show. So bright and flavorful with a little spice. We went with medium as we were not sure of their levels. If you like spicy you definitely want higher than medium.
Service was great, but at the time we were there it wasnât very busy inside. The waiter I believe was the owner and he did mention they were having problems keeping help.
This is a canât miss place for Thai in the Hwy 6 area and really hope they do well here. We will be back to try the other...
